Default EE and RR how scary???

I am not a scary ride person, but somehow the magic of Disney made me bold enough to ride the mountains (not too scary) and even TOT (scary! but fun) last time. I am not scared by Dinosoar or Test Track, but have always hated drops. I tolerated Splash because there was only one drop and it was over in three seconds. I'd love to do EE and RR next time, but I am scared. Any thoughts??

Go for it! If you can handle the others, you can handle these. EE isn't scary, it does have a pretty good drop, and goes backwards, but the fun of the ride would make it worth it. RR is very fast, dark and goes upside down... not scary, but somewhat intense. These two are some of the more intense rides at WDW... and two of the most fun! You choose, but I say why not just try it once!?

Well, I hate drops as well. Lokking at EE, I don't want any part of it! But, RRC is awesome!! I usually don't like Roller Coasters at all. I don't care for BTM or SM. The take off atRRC is pretty intense but after that it is a blast. I can't in good conscience tell you to go on EE, but if you didn't mind the Mountains, I think you will love RRC!

Just do it!! If you don't like them, then you don't have to do them a second time. However, I bet you end up loving them. RnR is a great ride and is so smooth! EE is a lot of fun as well and also very smooth. Nothing to worry about on either of these. Enjoy!

Don't know about EE (haven't had the chance to go on it yet) but my daughter went on RNRC when she was 5. She loved it. I didn't think it was scary at all and neither did she. As the ride ended she wanted to go on it again!

RNRC isn't bad for most people because it's dark so you don't have such a sensation of seeing where you are. EE on the other hand might be a bit different. It is indeed a great ride (especially for rollercoaster junkies like me). But if you don't like drops, you might not like this. This one has a drop backwards...

    One little spark of inspiration...

Thanks a lot. I think I am less frightened if I know what to expect. I have just 10 more days to work myself up for it! To be honest I am a little scared of TOT too! There is just something about that Disney magic though that makes me feel that I can do anything!

For me, they have yet to make a roller coaster that I wont get on.
Last year, my DS 4 loved EE he is not a huge daredevil either, but he thought it was great!

It is a very smooth ride.

Am I a huge disney fan? YOU BETCHA! I blame it all on my parents! They are the one's that walked around Disneyland all day to induce labor! Yep, I've been going to Disneyland since the day before I was born!

If you can ride BTMR, you can handle EE. It's very smooth. The thrills come more fom the turns, the backward part and the theming than big drops.

As for RnR, don't sit too far back. I was in the next to last seat and I came off with a headache from my head banging against the headrests. I have heard that it is much smoother closer to the front.

Im not scarred, but I found out last trip that as I get older, I get more "quesy"...
Any tips on how to still ride the rides you love, but not get that yuck feeling when you are done? I have considered the Dramamine patch but was wondering how tired it makes you...

I'm a ride weenie and I can do both of these. I was only able to do Space becuase I was walking the kids through it, and the lights came on. I was able to see that it's like "cat and mouse". Splash, I can do on occassion. Love BTM. I was told that EE is like BTM, so I got on it. But there is one drop, that isn't really that bad. I don't understand the people that say it's smooth. It bounces you all over the place. Did get on RRC, I was talked into it. You will not feel the times you "roll". Still can't talk myself into Tower. And I know I'm missing alot of fun.

I see a lot of posts here about young children 4 & 5 riding EE and RnR??? My son is 5 1/2 and we are going in Sept. He will be 6 in December and we measure him yesterday. He is only 43 inches tall. I am guessing that most of you must have very tall little ones, or do I have the height requirement wrong on these ( I have it as 44 inches???) We are hoping he will grow that last inch before we go, but from what I have read they are pretty strict about the height thing right??? I don't even know if he will want to ride these, but after reading this post I am rethinking it and may want to go on EE and RnR myself. I orignally thought that I would skip them both!!

I don't know about the dramamine - I've never taken it. But I imagine that being in an active place like WDW would help combat the fatigue a little.

As for tips on avoiding motion sickness, on rides like Soarin, Star Tours, 3D rides - basically anything with a movie aspect - if you start to feel sick, just close your eyes. You feel queasy because what you see and feel aren't matching up. Closing your eyes shuts one off and makes you feel better.

Okay, I'm a huge weenie when it comes to rides...just ask my husband. I'm terrified of heights, and don't like roller coasters. That said, I've ridden RnR and Everest....and love them both. I honestly like Everest better...the drop doesn't bother me as bad as the quick acceleration on RnR. Both are a lot of fun...I do each of them at least once every trip. In case you're wondering...I'm terrified to attempt ToT. Just can't bring myself to do it.
Just thought of something...if you go out to YouTube and search on EE, there's a great video this guy took of the ride and even set it to really cool music. If you want to know what to expect (rather than be surprised), take a look....it's really well done.

    Hope that helps!

They are scary, no doubt. But I believe you should try them. They are so unique in their theming that they need to be experienced before making a decision on them!

If you were ever to get on a large wooden roller coaster or some of the steel ones (the one at NY NY hotel and casino in vegas is really rough) you would understand why we say this is smooth. It doesn't try to rattle your skull off of your neck.

EE to my memory doesn't have many drops at all; if anything, like someone said, it is similar to Big Thunder Mountain, but faster (not to mention better, haha ). RNRC is very smooth, but intense......but it won't hurt doing it just once! If you love it, you'll know it, and if you don't love it, you never have to ride it again!

    Have fun

I know that I am scared of everything...my kids make fun of me because I didnt like Goofys Barnstormer...I wont ride TOT,RRC or BTM...I do like SM but not Dinosaur...I am going to be brave and ride EE this year maybe...I will never ride TOT or RRC...every year they try to talk me into it and every year they fail...I actually like to sit and wait while everyone rides...I can relax (and if anyone has little kids like I do) can have a whole water to myself.
