whats the weather typically like in june?
we heard a rumor it gets chilly in the evening!

Honestly in California, you never know. Last week it was in the 90's two days and then overcast and cold a few days. By June the days will mostly be hot, with mornings being overcast and evenings can get chilly. I would layer clothes and bring a light jacket/sweater, because out here you never know.

When we went a few years back in mid June, I wore a light jacket even during the day. It was chilly.

Typically, expect some "June gloom," which may wear off during the day. Evenings are cooler, with a cool to chilly breeze.
