Default Spring training and a different type trip

We have been going to WDW since my grandson was 1 year old. Lots has happened over the last 6 months(things that most children would never want to go through). We decided as a special trip, we are going to WDW (that is the one place everyone loves and feels comfortable). My sister, BIL and 2 nephews (ages 12 and 14) are going with my DH, grandsons ages 11 and 10 and myself. We want a trip that helps signify the kids are older. We thought about Spring training baseball, La Nouba, DisneyQuest. What are some other things we can do? We have been to the parks several times and love it each time but this trip needs to be a little different.

We like the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review and there is always the Luau.

Maybe dinner at the California Grill just before fireworks?

Maybe a behind the scenes tour?

    A fireworks cruise?

I hope everything is okay now and that you have a wonderful trip with the kids. Disney is the one place you can forget all your sorrows, if only for a spell.

    Hi Becky!
Wow! 12 & 14 yrs old already? And we haven't aged a bit.

I agree with Hoop Dee Doo as a fun meal for everyone. We just took our Boy Scout Troop (ages 11-18) there in June and they all loved it.

They are still too young for the backstage tours- except for the Steam Train tour. (I believe 10 is the minimum age) That could be a different activity. My DH did this tour several years ago and enjoyed it.

I really like the Spring Training idea. And DQ. Our boys loved Cirque too- so I think all 3 of your ideas are great.

How about golf (or even mini-golf) or para-sailing?

Some of these ideas can get pretty pricey... but I am sure you can come up with a nice combination that won't break the bank. I know my boys really enjoy doing new/different things on our WDW trips now that they are older. They have enjoyed many of the things we've already mentioned.
On our next trip (at ages 18 & 21 ), they are looking forward to more "fine dining!" They can't wait to eat at Cali Grill!

    Hope that helps your planning!
