Dancing isn't on till 9 or so does that help?

I didn't catch all of Adam's comments either..but it did seem this group was more prepared to "talk back" to the judges at the very begining then others.

Man! I didn't realized that I missed it until later in the evening. I'm going to have to set my recorder for it because I don't normally watch ABC and forget to check for these shows. I don't generally watch TV on Monday nights because nothing but Medium is on and forgot to watch the show. I'm going to have to go to the website and watch the episode.

When I saw a few weeks ago who was actually going to be on the show, I was a little surprised. Especially about Pricilla. I can't imagine her winning anything but she may surprise us. She was so pretty and I can hardly stand to look at her now. I think she was trying to keep up with her daughter and went too far. On that subject, why do so many of these stars think they have to have lips that stick out to the moon? If they only knew how bad it makes them look. I've seen some older stars lately that have never had cosmetic surgery and let nature take it's course. They may not be as young looking but it is so much better than the stiff face that doesn't move.

It is getting tough juggling all the reality shows right now.

Wow, I was pretty disappointed in last night's show. I did not like any of the guys very much. I feel like I am not going to be able to get into the show this season. Let's hope the girls are better tonight.

I'm only a newbie out here. I grew up in California just minutes from Disneyland. I moved to the Omaha area for the change of pace but I didn't want to give up the city aspects of life and this are balances them out very well. It's just big enough to keep many of the hicks at bay.

What's with the all the negative feedback for Penn and Adam? They knew what they were getting into bringing these two guys on. They're popular among most men and I think they want to get a broader audience. I wouldn't worry too much about Adam. The judges clearly hate him and will do whatever it takes to make him the first to go. They day he and Penn are voted off is the day I stop watching.

Did anybody else notice the Botox nightmare that was existing between Steve Guttenberg's eyebrows. I'm hoping nobody wants to see any more of that and the two best things about the show get to stick around for awhile. Penn will get to throw in some magic and Jimmy Kimmel will step in to do some manly dancing with Adam.

So true about the Botox junkies!! I really admire Jamie Lee Curtis b/c she is a big movie star and has shown herself in a true light in the last couple of years. She looks great, too. I did some modeling when I was younger and quit when they told me that at 5'9" and 115 lbs I had to lose a few pounds.

Really? I thought Mario, Cristián, Jason and Steve all did well. At least they were serious about dancing.

I don't like it when folks sign up to do the show and make a big joke out of it. It's not fair to those really trying. It's about dancing!

Here's hoping Adam goes first. He doesn't have enough class to pull off this show - but he'll get a lot of "worse" votes as a joke.

I am so excited to see how Kristi and Marissa do.
Me too, Donna. Can Merissa be any cuter? Her smile and personality is addicting. I hope she does well.

I'm listening to Adam's show right now. Ultimately it looks like they got him on the show for comic relief and he was not expecting to be lambasted on his first dance.

He's in it for the long run and his listeners are voting like crazy. Sorry folks.

I hope he sticks around for a while. People are just assuming he doesn't want to be there. but he DOES. He was trying and they attacked him. They are mean. GRRR. Poor Adam.

Default The essense of the competition

I always thought the show was supposed to be celebrities learning to dance. It seems to favor handsome celebrities that have experince dancing.

Adam is doing some Latin dance next week and it's going to rule!

By the way, Bruno is not really an Italian dancin' guy. His real name is David and he's from Akron, OH. He used to sell cash register parts.

BTW Adam is apologizing to Carrie-Ann right now for his knee-jerk reaction.

I can't DVR the show tonight. American Idol and the Biggest Loser are both on from 7pm-9pm. And Dancing with the Stars starts at 8pm. Boo. Oh well. I think I can watch it online later if I want.

I was fairly impressed with them too, especially Jason Taylor. Mario probably is the most fluid, but his dancing style reminds a little bit too much of hip-hop for me to give him top honors. I think the judges were right on about Cristian's shoulder hunching, but boy, is he cutie!

I actually thought Adam and Penn were trying and it will be interesting to see how much they improve if they stay on the show. That said, I still couldn't vote for either of them in good conscience. They just weren't that good, in my opinion. In any case, isn't it a moot point this week, since no one will be voted off?

I am looking forward to seeing the women dance tonight. I can't help but think that Kristi Yamaguchi will have an advantage--she's had to have had some dance training. And yes, Marissa has an infectious smile and a lot of enthusiasm. On the other end of the spectrum, Priscilla Presley looked positively stone-faced. I can't imagine how she will do if she doesn't emote more during her dances.

They are combining this weeks scores with next weeks. And then TWO are voted off next week.

I'll be sad if Adam is one of them. It's always fun to see people improve. It's so boring when the people are good from the beginning. I'd rather watch improvements than the same thing week after week.

The women did so much better than the men. My top two were Kristi (who did perfect and I love Mark!) and Shannon (with Derek, also love, I think her potential will keep going up). I was surprised by Priscilla, she did well, but I thought her marks were a bit higher than she would get. Monica was the lowest, she just didn't do as well as the others. Marlee did great. Marissa needs to get more of the technical parts in. I think a woman will win this time.

I didn't think Adam did that terribly bad. Considering he is totally stepping out of his comfort zone and trying something new, I think he should be commended. And besides...look at how long Jerry Springer was around!! Adam did much, much better than Jerry on his best day!

I thought the women were much better than the men.

Tops for me was Kristi. She did really great. I know there was a lot of talk about her feet, but she does have the advantage of knowing how to do the upper body and arm movements and she used it. Why not? And I already like Mark so much better. As a couple with Sabrina, not so much.

Poor Marissa. I was thinking as she was dancing that Tony's choreography stunk and I was glad to hear the judges validate that, since I claim to know nothing about this stuff. She's a doll though, and has so much to offer. I sure hope Tony can find a way to let her show what she's capable of. She does need to tone down the excitement just a bit though.

I was so surprised by Priscilla, and thought Marlee did great. Not too thrilled with Shannon (I just don't like her, and I'm sad Derek got paired with her) and poor Monica is just so out of her element. I was half expecting her to let out one of her famous on-court grunts.

    I really enjoyed tonight!

I finally watched the ladies' show last night and I agree with you Mel, they really outdanced the men. Kristi was awesome. She looked like she was near the end of the competition, not out there doing her first dance. I think I am going to enjoy watching her dance almost as much as skating.

I also think Marissa's partner needs to do more to capitalize of her enthusiasm and energy. She is a cute little dynamo and you can tell she is having so much fun.

Marlee was terrific too, and she looked fantastic. I love her sense of humor.

Priscilla did well, but I can not get past that frozen lion-like face. I thought watching poor Monica dance was painful. She was so uncomfortable and it showed. I almost hope she is the woman to go just to put her out of her misery.

Can't say that I'm overly impressed with any one this season. But I sure would like to see Cristian and Jason stick around for a long time. Wow! Are they both hot or what???

Adam also took the "look off into the distance" advice a little too literally and did it the entire time so he looked like a goober. He'll be better this week.

I'm so happy for Marissa, she is having a baby (via a surrogate who is five mo. pregnant). She had cervical cancer and beat it. She is really an inspiration. People like this really encourage you when you have been through a scary similar situtation.
