Travel trailer, with 4 kids that's the best way to travel; it's sometimes hard to get more than 4 persons into a standard hotel room (legally) and with 6, it's very expensive. We prefer the travel trailer to a 5th wheel, since we've got the roomy suburban to drive when we unhitch.

I'd love to try a tent at Fort Wilderness---In January!

A fifth wheel. I miss FW - haven't stayed there since 2004. With the gas prices we may as well fly and stay at one of the resorts.

Since we have gone with my parents the past four years, we have stayed in the cabins and loved it! They fit the six of us well and my DM does not want walk to a shower. We are planning to come back sometime with just our family and stay in our pop-up. We think FW is the best place to stay at DW.

This will be our first "camping" trip to WDW. We'll be in a 40' Class A. Quite honestly I hate the thing, (I'd rather have a 5th wheel or travel trailer) but it's only a few years old and belongs to my parents. They let us use it whenever we want, so who am I to complain?

There are several RV rental companies in the area; just Google "RV rental Orlando" or "RV rental Kissimmee".

We have camped at FW in a popup, then a 27' TT, and now in a 35' fifth wheel pulled by a Dodge 2500 MegaCab diesel pickup.

But with the cost of diesel fuel (I paid $3.83 a gallon this morning ) our diesel days may be numbered.

Last year we purchased a 27 ft. travel trailer and had many great camping trips in it. When we read about how wonderful everyone thought Ft. Wilderness was we couldn't wait to book our reservations for this spring.

We have been to a few PA camps,Ma,Nj,Va,Nc,and Fla but none are even close to FW in my eyes yeah i've been to some nice ones but they just aren't as nice as FW yeah you can find those neighbors from hell with kids running all through the sites people washing and flooding your sites but i think these are NOT a common thing in FW we have only had one trip were we complained to the front desk in the many trips we made but everyone get one of these that was hopefully our one otherwise FW is by far the best and would 150% recommend it

We anticipated that problem when we first got our fifth wheel, and mentioned that to the CM at the check-in area when we arrived. He assigned us a site, but told us if we couldn't get into it, we should just drive through the loop to see if we could identify a site that we COULD get into, then call them. Sure enough, the site he assigned us would have been difficult to get a popup into, so we cruised, found a perfect site, called from the courtesy phone at the comfort station, and BINGO - - we got that perfect site!

Moral of the story: You normally don't have to settle for the assigned site if you can't safely get into it. The CMs will work with you to keep you happy and safe.
