    Default Balloons?

We are checking in Tuesday - and it's noted on our reservation that we are celebrating our 5th anniversary (oct 12 is the exact date) - We are staying at the Poly.

I have read on other sites that disney will send some balloons to A room, to celebrate an anniversary or birthday....is this automatic? If it's listed on our reservation that we are celebrating our Anniversary? Or do I need to ask?

I'd feel funny to ask, but I would love to surprise my hubby...cause he has 'no clue'

I know that if you want to make sure something happens, you gotta pay for it, so, I decided to do something on my own from WDW Florist, it should be there the day we check in.

BUT, does anyone know anything about free balloons or something along those lines to celebrate a special occasion?

    Thanks!

We were there in April for our 20th anniversary. We got our anniversary buttons when we checked in, the CM that checked us in gave them to us. We checked in after 10pm the day we arrived. The next morning we left and went to the parks and when we returned that night they had put balloons with a card that had mickey and minnie and their "autographs" on it. It was very nice. We didn't ask for these it was something the resort did. I had gone for my birthday one year and they did the same thing- balloons and a card signed by Mickey.
Hope you have a great trip!

    1) Have your anniversary-birthday-honeymoon-etc noted on the ressie or on ADR's.
    2) The CM's have a lot of leeway of things to do or not do for you.
    3) It simply is a matter of the CM's initiative and how busy they are that day.
    4) It also depends upon how much they like you as a guest.
    5) Expect nothing and be pleased with any CM activities.
    6) Some of the things a CM can do for free are
. . . decorate table with Mickey confetti
    . . . best table location
    . . . special personalized menu
    . . . autographed birthday cards
    . . . balloons in room
    . . . gifts for kid's baby teeth
    . . . wine or champagne
    . . . appetizers
    . . . cake
    . . . autographed placemats
. . . wine or fruit basket sent to room
    . . . flowers sent to room
    . . . room upgrades

NOTE: Anyone can get balloons and an autographed card in the room after check-in. Just ask at the Front Desk or Concierge Desk. Based upon availability and scheduling, they may come sooner or later, but they usually come.

I asked for a cake to be in the room and could I get balloons also and he said no problem. This is from the bakery.

Congratulations on the 5 year! We arrive in two weeks for our 10 year anniversary. Not sure if it is listed on our reservation, but that would be great if they did something. We will be staying at POFQ. I think I mentioned once when I called for some of our ADR's.

    Have a great time!

I would first like to say it is nice to back. I just finish nursing school and decided to give myself and my two DD's a well deserved vacation. They have no idea. I was wondering, I booked my vacation thought MJ, can I request for balloons and a signed card from Mickey to be delivered to our room. I am willing to pay for this service. I think this would add a little extra magic to our vac.

Wow, this is all so nice! When we are there in February it will be my DD 11th birthday. I'll have to make sure they note that, she will be pleasantly surprised.

On our recent trip, we got lots of attention for our anniversary but did not receive balloons in the room. I have heard of some folks receiving them but have also heard of folks that did not.

On my 4oth birthday, my partner called and informed the staff at the Grand Floridian and they sent a card and balloons.

He also bought me a Pal Mickey, and they delivered it to the room...which was a great surprise!

    Have a great time!

We stayed at Pop for our 10th anniversary last year, and it was noted on our reservation, but we didn't get anything at the resort. We weren't expecting anything, like you said.

My husband and I have stayed at the POP twice already and this year as well. Next trip: 11/24 thru 12/5 ( celebrating a belated 11 year anniv. ) Actually it's this Saturday 10/18th Where does the time go?? Anyway, we've always had something in our room. It usually takes a day or two, but they do place things in the room. Remind them when you check into the hotel your first day. They ask when you'll be celebrating it. Cast members are very friendly and willing to help you out with anything. Have a wonderful time and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!

This is interesting, do only certain resorts practice this? Is it only for Birthday's and Anniversaries? We usually stay at the Wilderness Lodge. We got engaged during our Trip this past April. The next morning I went down to the lobby to see if they had a special button or something and I got a "sorry not for engagements" response. I was surely expecting something as it was a very important and celebratory time in our lives and we were looking to shout it to the world. LOL! Surprise balloons in our room would have been a nice response.

    1) The Front Desk Runner blows up balloons and delivers them.
    2) All resorts, except AKL give balloons.
    3) In many cases, you have to ask at the Front Desk.
    4) Usually they comply, but not always.

NOTE: At WL, I do not know of a single instance where a requested balloon/autograph was not met.
