    Default Pirates getting "fired"

Yesterday, I saw on TV, a report that said the men playing Captain Jack Sparrow at WDW are being "fired" because young girls/women keep "flashing" themselves to them.
It was reported that Captain Jack will not be seen around the parks anymore because of the unwanted actions of these young girls/women.
Has anyone else heard of this?

I heard this also however I thought it happened at Disneyland in California. What I heard is it was happening during the parades.

I can't believe people would flash a character when there are tons of kids around its crazy.

Either way, those reports are a bunch of <snip>.

According to a Disney spokesperson, the Pirates character cuts are only being done as a result of our lousy economy.

Hopefully, these cuts will only be temporary and that they'll be back once things really start to get better again.

I think this is a bit of exaggeration but partly true. While I think the flashing thing is probably mostly made up I feel like one of the main reasons Captain Jack is being taken out of meet and greets is because of all the chaos it creates. It's almost not even worth it to have him out when it causes such a mess. I wouldn't be surprised if some guests have behaved inappropriatly as this suggests, but I don't think that's the only reason he's being removed.

Jack's meet and greets weren't that bad. It wasn't any worse than the Fairies and it was certainly a lot more efficient since it was set up like the Judge's Tent.

Other characters being cut have included Darby, Wendy, and Piglet (mostly only at MK now).

Hmmm. Not surprised at all. Good thing rates don't go down though. I'd hate for ticket prices to actually reflect a change in service offerings.

Oh no, I can't beleive Wendy is being cut as well. My son loved meeting Peter Pan and Wendy, it was a highlight of one of our trips. He also loved the pirate tutorial that year as well.

We just saw the Pirate Tutorial on Tues. (12-9) and it was great! No one behaved inappropriately and both the characters were very funny .

So if it's going to happen it must be sometime later

I wouldn't worry about the pirate tutorial, this is mostly talking about the actual meet and greets at Disney Land, not even Disney World, the pirate tutorial has never been much of a problem and should continue for awhile.

I'd be willing to put on an eye patch, place a fake parrot on my shoulder, and to walk around the park to investigate if this type of behavior is really happening.

Like I said before, that article was just a bunch of lies.

Wouldn't surprise me if there was some flashing going on.

We've never been able to run across Wendy and Peter Pan, I was hoping to in September. Maybe things will get better by then and she will be back.
