American Idol Season 8

Wow, that was the best finale show they have ever had! I thought (with the exception of Megan's performance) all of the duets were fantastic. Lil was fantastic with Queen Latifah- she must have been getting some lessons here and there since her departure. I think that either way, both of these guys are going to have huge careers. I just saw Adam on Fox News and he was so graceful about his 2nd place win. The reporter asked him about the Queen thing, and he said there was some "interest" from them. He pled the 5th after that. Great Finale show- I had decided I probably was finished with Idol, but after that, I don't know.
Who knew Kara could sing? My jaw kind of dropped.
Norman Gentle was a RIOT and I can't wait to see more of him!!!

It's so funny how differently two people view the same show ... I hated Lil and loved Megan.

And I would have sent in a huge check to Idol Gives Back if they never showed another second of Norman Gentile video.

Another one who really enjoyed the finale show here. I expected to zip right though and instead found myself liking almost the whole thing KISS was eh, but Queen was great. I was surprised at how good Kris sounded with Urban. I'm happy for Kris, a little sad for Adam but they will both be successful, although Kris may have needed the win for that extra push.

Totally agree on the Kris/Keith duet ... it was one of my favorite performances of the night.

-Kris and Keith Urban
-Adam and KiSS/Queen ( and he could be the new singer)
- Jason Marz and Idols
- Matt and Santana..Up until they started into Smooth..Most overplayed song ever.
- Meagan,Michael and Steve Martin - This was her best preformance of the whole season.
- Idol Girls(Megan excluded) and Fergie..And was there a editing done during the Black Eyed Peas song?

Indiffrent-
- Lil Rounds - Queen Latifah
- Allison and Cyndi Lauper -

Bad -
-Rod Stewart - I know he is an icon and everything I just thought he sounded bad

- Bikini Girl and Tatiana - The best part of BG was Seacrest and when Kara was up there with her...

Overall congrats goes out to Kris on him winning talk about two straight nights of shock (DWTS). Great season...let's hope next season will be just as good.

Yea the censoring on the Black Eyed Peas song was hilarious. Why even let them sing it if you have to cut away for that long? Also, in my area they apparently broke in with an Amber Alert right as Kris was getting his statue. At the bar we were watching sports and the tv had no sound-I thought it was odd when the "Community Message Board" came on screen for a while, advertising things like auditions for local plays and stuff. When I got home and watched my Idol tape, it was on that channel too, only this time I could hear the sound and this scary voice was cutting in and out describing the vehicle the child was kidnapped in. Then it cut back midway through Kris's song. I know this is a very serious matter, but there's gotta be a better way to announce that kind of thing.

Maryanne, we got that Amber Alert, as well, and it was really creepy. What was worse was that DD was watching with me and she was like, "What's that, Daddy?"

Not an easy question to answer for a 7 year old about to go to bed ....

And I have to admit I think I chose to watch a good season...yet some of my friends said they didn't watch any of this season?? I don't get it but what can I say?

I do have to add that ever since I competed in the American Idol Experience at HS I'm hooked on Idol and I can't wait to go back to HS and audition again, hoping to get on stage again!

I was shocked Adam didn't win, but I suppose it doesn't really matter, he will probably go off to do better things.
By the way, did anybody think the single Kara co-wrote was awful? It was the cheesiest song I have ever heard. It didn't sound right for either of them to sing it.

I did not like Kara's song either. It seems with each season the final song gets worse and worse. They've had much better songs in the past.

We really enjoyed this season. Congratulations to Kris Allan. He did a good job. Way to go.

If she is back next season, I think Simon will leave, And if Simon leave's Paula said she would leave.
Kara might single handedly destroy american idol. Way to go AI producers!
