    Default Adventurer's Club Rumors?

    Hello all!
This is my first post here on intercot! I am, as I am sure nobody else here can relate to, a Disney nut .
I heard from a friend, who happens to be a cast member, that he believes the AC will reopen when the renovations at the West side are complete. Just wondering if anyone else has heard any other rumors, no matter how far fetched they may seem. I'm still clinging to a faint hope that Disney could find room to keep the AC in their 40 some sq miles of park.

    Welcome!
I wish this were true, but all signs point to it being gone forever....as far as I know...

Nah, based on everything I've heard I think they plan on (or already are in the process of) demolishing the joint and replacing it with stores or something.

I'm fairly certain it's gone for good, unfortunately. It was really a unique experience.

As much as I'd love to have AC back, I highly doubt it ever will. The cast was let go, so I don't think the place will come back.

    I miss AC!!!

The cast wasn't let go. They were simply re-deployed to other areas. A lot went to Idol, Slapstick, Monsters, Streetmosphere, Nemo, Showcase. The same for CW. They couldn't terminate their contracts.

But I think they might bring it back.............if birds have heard the truth for once.

When we all talk about our next trip to the world, we all think "and then at night we can go over to Adventurers ... wait.. "

We used to love have a few drinks at AC and just laughing hysterically. One of my favorite memories of Disney is from the AC...if Disney's smart (for ONCE?! PLEASE?!!!!?"), they will bring back this wonderful place and it'll be an even bigger hit than it was before! All the attention this place is getting on the interwebs is insane!!

I also hope there is some truth to this rumor.

But really, not to hijack the thread, i want to comment. It seems that Disney management looks at the World as if everything is equal. To be sure WDW is a very unique place. But not everything in the World should be viewed the same way. There are other theme parks in the world, with rollercoasters and dark rides. There are other entertainment districts with dancing and comedy. There are other places with stage shows and interesting dining venues. But i can't think of any place quite like the Adventurers Club. It was one of the truely unique Disney creations.
The Adventurers Club does not deserve its fate. I do hope it finds another reincarnation. But like so many other Disney "low capacity" inventions, it most likely is gone forever.

As much as we all would like this to be true, as of today there is no truth to this rumor at all. The last I was told (from a very reliable source) was that as of right now there are no plans in motion to bring back the AC and if the idea did come to play it most certainly would not be on pleasure island or downtown as these areas are being set aside for more lucrative ventures form outside companies.

Sorry to burst the bubble, but as of right now, that's how it stands

An AC cast member (he played a great Otis!) is the one who said he believes that after the renovations are done it might be brought back.

Ah, okay. Good to know they didn't lose their jobs. But still, if I saw them in other shows...it wouldn't be the same. I'd think of them as the characters they played at AC. *sigh* Still, I miss it a lot.

Couldn't we have AC, rather than AI. I can't stand that show and don't watch it! I'd much rather laugh at the antics of the AC crew, then to listen to people try to sing.

Oh well. I hope the rumor turns out to be true.

AC was always something I looked forward to. Now that it's gone ... Poor decision by Disney.

I think it should be a themed restaurant.

    The Adventurer's Club lost money....

that is unacceptible at a place that was built to generate profits....

people still seem to be having a hard time with this concept

How much money is a greeting area making?

I have already heard of a number of families that are cutting down the frequency and/or duration of their visits, because of the closing of the AC. Some do not renew their annual passes. So by closing the AC, they not only reduced their costs and missed the revenue of the AC, but also the revenue in shops, restaurants, tickets, etc. will drop.
