    Default Revised DVC Incentives

The incentives for new members to purchase and for existing members to add-on has changed.

The previous developer points incentives for BLT/AKV have been replaced with a free cruise on Disney Cruise Line:

    • Add on 100 points: a 3 night cruise for 4 people (160 for new members)
    • Add on 125 points: a 4 night cruise for 4 people (200 for new members)
    • Add on 200 points: a 7 night cruise for 4 people (270 for new members)
    DVC Mike

I feel jipped. I attended a DVC open house yesterday and they did not offer me this.

    Unhappy

Guess I jumped too soon at those builder points. Definitely would have rather had the free cruise.

Dang that's pretty impressive. I'm thinking about adding additional points, but not ready at this point to do it. I would like a cruise though.

I don't know. I'm pretty happy with the developer points. For my 160 points under the new plan, I'd get a 3 day cruise. I took the developer points and will be using them in May for a 10 day trip with the kids at Saratoga Springs. We've been on cruises before so I'll take the 10 days over 3 days anytime!

Cost wise, the criuse is a better deal. $160 developer points would get you like $1760 if you were able to "rent" them. The cruise much more than that for 4 people.

Renting SSR points is probably going to not be easy this coming year, I don't think the $11 a point is going to hold.

But, if you're not interested in the cruise, then DP are still good.

I agree that from a pure value perspective the cruises are a better deal, but at the end of the day our 200 developer points are going to pay for the majority of a week plus in one of the treehouses (assuming we can get in!) so I'm okay with that.

Holy cow! Wish we could buy an add-on... I have never been on a cruise and would absolutely love this!

I know they are offering this for the Villas at the Grand Californian as well. My Uncle is adding CA to his FL ones.
