Default A Fishing trip from Fort Wilderness-transport?

We will drive to Fort Wilderness for our fishing trip. We have to report at 6:45 AM. I understand the parking lot at FW is far from the waterfront. Do we walk (how long does that take?) or will an internal bus be running at that hour (and how long does the bus take?)
    Thanks! Aunt Kari

It's a very long walk from the parking lot to the waterfront at Fort Wilderness. You'll need a bus.

YOu could always change the location and just go to the CR. Much shorter walk to the dock from there. Same lake, same fish!

You could also consider taking the boat launch from the Contemporary or the Wilderness Lodge to FW.

The buses and boats will be operating by 7:00, but I believe 6:30 is too early (someone correct me if you have seen the internal buses running earlier). And the walk from the parking lot to the dock will be about 30 minutes.

You should probably contact the FW fishing guides for transportation advice.

I agree. I would call them. I bet they could pick you up at the Wilderness Lodge dock - same lake, slightly different location. I think that's where they tie up some of the boats anyway. They used to tie up at FW dock. The small boats might start running 645am. - They were running clockwise last time we were there - so Contemporary would be the stop before FW. Have fun. Our guys have done that a lot.
