Transferring Luggage?

We are staying an extra night in Disney so we are moving to ASMo for the last night of our trip. (We are non-DVC members staying at OKW for the week.) I've never switched resorts before so how does moving the luggage work?

Do we call bell services the night before and say that we need assistance in the morning?
Or do we call that same morning? If so, how long before we want the luggage picked up do we call?

Or do we have to bring the luggage downstairs ourselves?

Also, once we check-in at ASMo, will they bring the luggage to the room automatically? Or do we have to call down to ask them to bring it up?

You can call bell services in the morning to transfer your luggage. I would call about 30-45 minutes in advance if you need to be somewhere in the morning. The bags get transferred mid-day so they should be at ASMo in the late afternoon (3 - 4pm). They won't deliver your bags automatically - you will have to call for them or go to bell services once you have your room assignment.

We did it and bell services picked it up and delivered it. Our situation may have been unique, but our luggage did not get to our new resort until almost 7PM. It took over 10 hours. They could not tell us where our luggage was at any time. I was going to take a cab back to WL to get it myself. All they could tell me is that it was not there and it was not at our new resort. It was kind of ridiculous.

1) Call the day before and arrange a bellman appointment time. *
2) They will pick up the luggage.
3) They move it to the next WDW resort by end of day - no time guaranteed.
4) You can retrieve luggage at All Stars.

* The bellmen get very busy at OKW and SSR. They actually have a schedule book to pickup luggage. If you wait until the last minute, they may not be able to accommodate you at your requested time.
