I'm the first to admit that although I'm a huge sports fan in general, hockey has never really been of interest to me. Growing up in the south will do that to you.
With that said - it's my new obsession, since I now live in a town with a team, and a nice arena. Go Lightning! And Lecavalier - hubba hubba. I'm really excited about this season, although I don't think they are very good.
Just want to note that my boys have picked up where they left off...8-1 on the season so far.
I'm hoping for an 80's Islanders-ish dynasty run.
My boys have also picked up where they left off! 0-6!!!
All I am hoping for is a win...
Go Leafs Go!!

You guys can get great seats at good price. I am jealous. For me to get two tickets and the night out would cost me over $500. Gotta love the Corporate Season ticket holders.

Wow Brian. That stinks.
Yep, tonight is going green night - bring a telephone book to be recycled, get a $5 ticket. Halloween afternoon is kid in free with paying adult. We're doing that instead of trick-or-treating.

My Dad calls when he is in Florida and tells me that the Leafs are in town to play the Lightning and he got tickets for less that $20. Oh I so wish a team would end up in Hamilton and help drive the ticket prices in Toronto down.
The four highest prices NHL cities are Toronto, Montreal, Calgary and Edmonton. Go figure. The guys that love hockey the most just get plain hosed. Sorry, I'll get off my now.
Even without Geno and Gonchar...they keep winning. This is amazing.
Just wish the Stanley Cup Champions didn't wait until the last few minutes to score the 2 goals to tie it up.
That being said, this hockey team just looks incredible. They are on a roll.

As an ex-hockey player, I am slowly introducing DGF to the sport. We were channel surfing and caught the OT and shootout of Leafs/Habs last night. After a couple minutes of watching, she exclaims, "The jail guys are better!", in reference to Montreal's jerseys last night. Sure enough, Habs win, and I ask her if she's going to be a Canadien fan which was followed by a . Still working on her As for what I've noticed so far:
I was right on the money with my prediction of Minnesota taking a step backward minus Lemaire and Gaborik. They finally got their first road win last night in the Igloo after 9 tries. Good for them.
Phoenix has been a nice surprise for me given their success so far and their very uncertain future (Which if I still had to wager, this team ends up in Hamilton. I see more of a fan base there than anywhere else mentioned because of all the rouge Leaf fans). Unfortunately, this could be a Quebec or Winnipeg situation where the team makes a playoff run, gains a fan base, then leaves town.
