Default NFL Good, Bad, and UGLY Week 11

Since our Jet friends apparently are still shaken from the beating in New England, I'll start this week.

    Vikings:
Good: Not only was it a hard fought win, but it was a team win as well; from Farve's mindboggling and record setting 88% completion percentage to Sidney Rice's two touchdowns to Asher Allen's first career interception, this was about as well played of a game as you can get.

Bad: Still no Antonie Winfield . That said, the Vikings are truly stepping up after what could have been a devastating injury for the Vikings defense.

Ugly: Some of Seattle's play calling. Who in their right mind would attempt to run up the gut on 3rd and inches against the best rush defense in the game?

The Good: Hard fought, come from behind win on the road against a team fighting for the same playoff spot you're fighting for.

The Bad: This team is still ridiculously lazy and inconsistent. They come out and immediately go up by 10 and then proceed to go to sleep and do absolutely nothing for the next two and a half quarters of football. And they're still too undisciplined with these dumb penalties they take all the time.

The Ugly: The Bears season. I distinctly remember laughing heartily at the beginning of the year when Peter King picked the Bears to go to the Super Bowl. Maybe I should get a job with SI ...

Ian, I'm a Bears fan and even I wouldn't have pick the Bears to go to the Super Bowl. We definitely needed a more consistent QB but I wasn't sure Cutler was it. Also we didn't address the WR position and all. What good is a new QB if you still have the same WR's? And while I think Forte is a good RB it is his 2nd year in the league. Can anyone say sophomore slump.

Until management changes what they are doing the results on the field won't change no matter what players they bring in. We could have Peyton Manning as a QB and with the play calling and other personal we would get the same results.

The defense I will cut a little slack because of all the injuries we have had.

I agree Ian, most of my family are Bear fans and they treated Cutler's addition like it was the greatest thing ever. I kept asking different members of my family "Who does Cutler throw to besides the opposing defense?", to which my aunt added "We'll get Plaxico Burress!". I followed up with "He'll shoot himself in more ways than one."

We are not shaken, nor are we bowed. Come on New England should have had a lot more points ... plus its not like we weren't expecting this. I guess we had our hard hats on.

The Good: Hmm, wow those saints and colts sure are playing well, huh.

The Bad: Our rookie looks ,well, bad. you pick, coach or QB.

The Ugly: Randy Mosses tackle of Revis- because he didn't want to get shown up again (pass that he got called for pass interference on, that revis probably would have had an int. on)
Oh wait, I almost forgot, Can you believe what our classless coach said this week

Oh and a comment to the sports guys who complain about billicheck handshakes and only seem to bring it up when he looses, this one in the win, was about as long and hartfelt as when the jets beat them. Its Just his Style.

And by the way ladies & gents - If I do not post next week- it is not because I lost faith in my team (hey I did that after they lost to miami 2 times, HEhe )...its because I will be in final preparation for my DISNEY trip (we leave EARLY in the am monday the 30th).

Good: A win...second place...two games behind the Pats with one to play against them at home. Not a bad position to be in.

Bad: Our OL gets HAMMERED by injuries.

Ugly: Aside from the injuries, can't really think of any.

    Colts

Good: Another W, TEN AND 0!! Defense stops the run when it mattered. Can you say Goal Line Stand? 5 FG's and an INT late in the game. Offense getting production from Tom Santi and Pierre Garcon.

Bad: Fumbling near the goal line. (Ray Lewis nice hit) Not putting the game away when had the chance.

Ugly: Harbaugh for not knowing the rules. Ask for measurement, Challenge then call time out. Not call time out, to challenge the spot. Thanks for using your timeouts.

Yes, I forgot to mention the fact she's a Bear season ticket holder. That said, it is pretty sad when your leading receiver is your tight end.
