Some questions about the Disneyland Hotel

I'm planning a trip to Disneyland in May with my boyfriend. I've stayed in both the GCH and PPH but never the DLH. He doesn't know we'll be staying there either.
I read that there is construction going on at the DLH. How long is that going on? Will it be done by May 2010? If not, will the construction be disturbing to our stay. I'd love to stay at GCH but am lacking that much money.
Another question- if I'm staying at DLH can we use the pool at the other DL resort hotels? Or not?

Construction at the DLH is scheduled for 2 years ... so it won't be done but construction is scheduled away from open guest areas ... and you can request to be far away you can check out a thread about the construction HERE. Pool hopping isn't allowed ... except for DVC members I believe.
