Default How many points do you have?

As a DVC owner, how many points do you have? Why did you buy what you bought?

We have 220 points. We got 220 because of the contract terms in resale. There were 440 at time of purchase and we wanted to book 4 rooms this year. In the long run, it will get us up to 2.85 weeks per year (Adventure Season) at OKW (our home resort) if we want to go that many times. Of course, that's optimistic.

With 220 we can vacation every year using studios and be very comfortable. As the kids get older, maybe we can bank/borrow and take 1 really amazing trip.

    What are your plans?

We have 220 points at OKW also. We usually get a 1 bdr. when we visit WDW and since we could not make it last year and banked the points, we are getting a 3dr. this year and taking some family down with us.

    Default 1,250 points

I have 1,250 points spread across six home resorts. I have the most points at BLT, where I own 425 points, and the least points at VGC, where I own just 125 points.

I spend about 32-35 nights a year at Disney in 1-BR villas, which the two of us love.

We have 445 points total -- 320 at AKV and 125 at BLT. We have a little bit of a cushion built up because we purchased our AKV points in 2008 but didn't use any points until 2009. So, we were able to bank all of our 2008 points, and it has worked out well. This year we're using our points to stay in a 2-bedroom lake view at BLT in May for 11 nights. Can't wait!!

I feel like a light weight here...but I have only 100 points at AKL. Unfortuantly its all I can afford for now. But it at least gets me 1 week a year in a studio during most seasons. And the next 2 years we might not go and just bank so we can have a one-bedroom on the next trip

wow, so many of you have points at multiple resorts. I just don't understand, do you have trouble booking non-home resorts - as I understand you need enough points at the resort to take advantage of 11 month window. No issues booking at 7 months?

I feel like a lightweight too!!!! haha!

I have 385 points all at SSR. We have never stayed there! Always able to switch to BWV or BCV - probably because we want a 2 bedroom.

Because of the 2 bedroom need - I am always running out of points....

BLT was tempting ....... but I held back.

It will be paid off in 5 years (I financed it - please don't judge me!) - looking forward to that day!

We have 550 points - 300 at VB and 250 at SSR. The 300 at VB come in handy as we try and get a beach cottage for a week every other year, and without the 11 month window we'd never get it in the summer. We call MS as soon as they open, and even then we've missed out a few times and had to call a week later.

We've never had any trouble booking at any of the WDW-area DVC resorts at the 7 month window, but we are also very flexible and would stay in any of them (we've stayed in them all). We even got BLT back in October for the F&W Fest, but that was just a studio for me and DW.

When traveling with the whole family, we always get a 2BR as we have 5 of us in the family, with two of the kids being teen-aged boys. We need our space, so we need our points!

    ...not enough!

We have 400. Bought initial 150 and have added on twice (during promotions!). I want to add on some more, but DW feels we have enough. Got to work on that one!

    DVC Mike,
Are you retired? It'd be hard for us to get the time off to use 1250 points. Maybe one day.

    LoriSan,
Had a pregnancy scare the other day, and our first thought was we'd have to buy more DVC points.

We have 160 points at VGC which nets us two 5 day trips per year. On years we go to WDW, it should net a 10-12 day trip in a studio since we have no need for the amenities in a 1BR. We are looking to pick up a small contract at BWV or BCV so we can get home resort priority at WDW in an Epcot resort.
