school project

Hi hope this is in the right thread if not please move. I have a daughter 13 in 8th grade doing a project for school in which she picks a career she is interested in and interviews someone in that career. Well she is interested in the culinary field. So we were wondering if there are any chefs in Disney or for that matter on Intercot that we could e-mail a set of questions she has about the culinary field? We don't happen to know a chef and my daughter thought it would be awesome to talk with a chef from Disney and I thought now how do we go about doing that? First thing that came to my mind was Intercot someone out there might have an answer. Thanks

when we were last at disney, may 2009, my hubby was so impressed with the food he asked to personally compliment the chef. The chef actually came out and sat down with us to chat for a bit. My husband asked for the recipe and the chef wrote it down for us. We make it at least once a month. I bet if you ask someone might take a bit to answer some questions. it can't hurt to ask. it is disney after all!

1) If I may suggest an alternative.
2) Disney has MANY cooks, but few chefs.
3) And, due to the system, chefs have little leeway.
4) This is like a chef at a chain restaurant.
5) My recommendation is to call a chef at a local upscale country club.
6) Probably one of the toughest chef jobs
. . . they must be creative to keep members coming in often
. . . their contracts are year-to-year on performance
. . . they have to run staffs
. . . they have to purchase
. . . they have to be profitable
. . . they must constantly change their menus
. . . they have to with large and small member parties
. . . they have to work with large and small outside parties
. . . they have to cater wedding to golf outings
. . . they have to put up with outside people
. . . they have to put up with picky/meddling members
. . . they have to deal with governing director boards

PS - Our country club executive chef is Michael Symon , of "Iron Chef" fame.

PPS - We own controlling interest in two eateries, and the chefs lives are a lot easier than country club chefs.
