BCV vs. BWV
After staying at the Swan & Dolphin, I realized just how important location is to me. I love the proximity to Epcot and the boat ride to DHS. Endless buses drive me nuts.
What do you see as the pros and cons of BCV and BWV? I think that we'll be renting points to stay at one of them for our next trip and I'd like to try to choose the one that sounds most like what we'd enjoy. At some point we'll probably buy in and I want to stay there before doing so!

I like that location too. We've done BWV twice and are on the waitlist for it again for our August trip. I'd rather get BCV though...love the pool there and Cape May Cafe (yum!). BCV is really close to Epcot too...BWV is close, but a tad farther. It's hard to get, since I have OKW points.

I was just able to book a BCV 1-BR for 8/19-8/27 with my OKW points! Very excited! When in August are you going, I"m surprised you've had to wait-list.
I love the location of BCV. Have stayed at YC and BW prior to DVC.
Location is critical.

We're going 8/14-8/20 and wanted a 2BR standard view (not the more expensive view). Which view did you get?

In general, BCV is nicer? Is that why it costs more points?

IMO that is the best area to stay. You walk to two parks, can take the monorail to MK and the only buses you need are AK and DTD. After your done in the parks all day its nice to have that little bit of nightlife on the boardwalk when you get back instead of a dead hotel.

I've always enjoyed the Boardwalk over the Baach Club. Just like the ambiance and theme a little more. Easy walk to HS as well as Epcot.

Boy, BWV seems to have a lot of fans! Between the location, the resale price, and the points needed, it seems like a winner to me!
How easy or difficult have you found it to get reservations there once you're inside seven months?

They are both very nice. However, if you have kids that like to spend any time in the water, the BCV is the top place on Disney property. We often have trouble getting our kids out of the water to go the the theme parks. Atmosphere at both is top notch and they are only a 5 minute walk from one another. But if you are asking me choose Beach Club.

Heh, I only have four kids.
One will be four in June and the triplets are 14 months. Thanks for throwing a wrench into my decision, Mark! Ah, well...time to keep thinking!

Ok, I'm really going to throw a wrench into your planning. At Beach Club there is a big zero entry area just for younger kids that is sand bottom and about a foot deep. Your young ones will love that area. There is even a kiddie slide next to the bigger slide. I can't recommend Beach Club enough if you're going to spend any time in the water. Not to mention you can watch Illuminations in the England/France area of World Showcase and be in your room 10 minutes after its over, although its only a couple of more minutes to Boardwalk.

I guess that standard vs. preferred at BWV will come into it as well. If there is a reason that we would really want preferred, then there is really no point difference between BWV and BCV. The thing that is most attractive to me about BWV is the low point cost of the standard rooms. I just read on another forum though that it is hard to get those standard rooms for just that reason.
Thoughts? All else being equal, I'm pretty sure that we'd prefer BCV...

there are very few standard rooms available which is why they are hard to get.

I think that pretty much makes up my mind then. I'll just go for the BCV and avoid the hassle!
Of course, that would bring us to the "buy where you want to stay" anyway, since BCV would be our first choice.
