I've been in the Tiki Bird's many many times...
New Management Old Management it doesn't matter...
For me and the husband it's more like...
Fred and Julie's nap station. I honestly don't ever think I've kept my eyes open for the whole show.

    Sad but true!

The 2 things I would miss from the New Management-

    1. The pre-show with the late Phil Hartman. He is not found anywhere else in WDW.
    2. The voice of the French bird (Jaque) is voiced by the late Jerry Orbach. I do still have Philarmagic, but still it takes away one place to hear him.

I'll agree with the pre-show. That was the only good part of Under New Management though.
Let's stop defending mediocrity out of Disney and hold Disney to the higher standard they set up themselves.

I was at DL seeral weeks ago. DL has a Dole Whip counter at the Tiki Room; it's located to the right of the entrance doors and there is access from both sides of the counter. I couldn't believe the length of the lines - on BOTH sides. There was one line that snaked around the outside of the building and up the pathway, and another line that snaked around the circular area in front of the entrance doors. The outside line was so long it resembled a line for an attraction, and people were joining it without realizing it was a line for Dole Whips. The CMs working the counter that day were really earning their pay and the guests were patiently waiting for their turn to order - no one was complaining. It's amazing how patient we all are when a Dole Whip is involved.

I too wish they'd include a Dole Whip stand at the Tiki Room in WDW. After all, we can never have too many Dole Whip stands.

I also hope for the return of the original show. I saw it several times in DL, to satisfy my long-overdue wish to see the original. I was talking to a CM, who told me that a return to the original show in WDW is a possibility but it's still a rumor. I'm hoping this is one time when a rumor is true. And, if and when it happens, I won't have to wait for my next trip to DL to see the original version.

    Cool

Hmmm ... it says a version "reminiscent" of the original show. That scares me a little bit. I hope they don't try to set it to Selena Gomez music or something.

they can't do worse than "under new management" version can they? I hope it's more like the DL version because that one is so much fun and enjoyable.

Unless they add in songs from these Disney pop singers like Selena Gomez, then nope. Nothing can be worse than Under New Management. Then again, we haven't seen this newer version yet.

Just read the report on another site about Tiki returning to it's "original glory", and rushed over here to see what everyone's saying.

Let me preface what I'm about to say by stating that I've seen the original show at DLand the new management show at WDW - I've even seen them in the same year. That being said, I KNOW the Tiki Room is about to become a lot more boring. The new management gave it a good Disney-movie boost and had lots of funny humor in it. If you didn't think it was funny the first time you watched it, then you're just hating it for the sake of hating something new.

The old version is dull by today's entertainment standards. Maybe 50 years ago, it was quite the novelty and really neato. I really liked the spin the new version gave the old show, and my kids thought it was hilarious and loved the interaction of familiar cartoon characters. With the old stuff coming back, I'm afraid kids won't enjoy it nearly as much, and I know my wife and I won't.

    Flame away.

That's your opinion and I respect it... I disagree, but I respect it. Even though I've never seen the original (although I have heard it,) I know by experience that many "old" things are better than today's standards, entertainment included.

This however, is not an opinion. You're telling me that the reason I don't think it is funny is because it's new. That just doesn't make sense.
