    Default Any rides for us?

We are looking to do a day at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Last time we were at US was September 2004. Never been to IOA.

But when we go to Disney we go on rides such as; Great Movie Ride at DHS, Nemo at EPCOT and Haunted Mansion to name a few. Yes, very easy going rides, since I am the type to get sick on the plane, sometimes. I even had "sea legs" after our last cruise. I know I sound like a bundle of health.

But based on that scenario, what rides at US/IOA would be suitable? If any...Or are these places too much for us.

And once the sickness subsides, what places are good for a nice sit down meal.

Been a long time since we were there, but we loved ET best! I do remember a lot of intense rides, but I enjoyed them. I don't remember too many easy going rides, other than ET.

Also, as we were leaving the ride, we were talking about how much we loved it. One of the castmembers heard us and escorted us back to ride again! This has never happened to me at Disney!

So how was ET? Seems it should be tame. I remember Twister, some type of Earthquake ride and something with Jaws. Will have to see if any of those are still around.

Earthquake has been re-themed and renamed to Disaster which themes it so that you are on a soundstage for a movie. It has a couple new things in the pre and post shows but it basically is the same ride. ET is a fun little ride, although a few times it feels like you are going up high in the air. Twister and Jaws both haven't changed much if at all in the last few years.

Shrek is a 4-D theater show, much like Philharmagic. Men in Black is alot like Buzz but a better version of it (Although it does spin around pretty fast a couple of times), The Simpsons Ride is a simulator so I don't know how you react to those. Besides those, that's about it for the Studios...

Over at Islands, doesn't sound like you would like much. Poseidon's Fury is a very cool walk through attraction that is a show around you (I might add that this won't be around much longer when they expand the Harry Potter land). The Cat in the Hat is a dark ride like those in Fantasyland.

    Hope this helped...

Yes, that was very helpful! Glad to see "Earthquake" has just been refurbished, but is technically still there. Sounds like I may be able to do ET, may be looking into that a bit more. But Jaws & Twister, definites! Shrek is also doable, but MIB, another one to look closer at. Simpsons ride, probably not.

At Island will do Poseidon, while it is still there. And of course gotta at least see HP!

Again, Thank You and Congrats Intercot Staffee!

The Studio: A hidden gem is the Hollywood Horror Make-Up Show. The Terminator is a one of a kind show! Shrek 4D, ET, Jaws, MIB, Twister, Disaster. You should be OK with all of these.

IOA: This is harder. Anything in Seuss Landing, the SinBAD Show, Posiden's Fury (I really like this show), can you do water rides??

We really like Finnegans in the Studio. IOA has Blondies which had good quick sanwiches. You MUST go into the sandwich shop in the Studios. They have the best cheesecakes! Very creamy.

This is not the RR or ToT but it's not the JC or HM either. You may have a problem with this, but if you can do it then Spiderman and the Simpsons will be OK for you too.

Outside of the Sinbad show. They have a talking fountain. Very cute. Keep your eyes open for "street shows". They're clever and cute. The Amazing Pet Show. Nifty. Lots of little "Harry Potter" themed street shows. If you can't ride Harry Potter. Go through the "queque" if you can. Really neat Dragon skeleton and other designs throughout.

Jurassic park. Nice fun ride. A single "drop" at the end of course but otherwise. Just a slow boat like the Jungle cruise. Keep your eyes peeled. Another vote for the Horror Show.

A little area next to the Rock rollercoaster is a filming studio. Keep your eyes peeled...sometimes they need REAL audience members.

This is a huge drop. I believe it's higher than Splash Mountain if I remember correctly.

    Yes, you do.
The drop at Splash Mountain is 52 feet high.
The drop at the Jurassic Park River Adventure is over 85 feet.

It's 85 feet, few more feet than Everest. And with Everest's drop, you can't even see half of the drop from the outside. It is a VERY thrilling drop, but it ends quick and the rest of the ride is really cool...

Water rides I can do. I just can't stand anything with such a drop. So, cheesecake after.

I will have to give this a closer look.

I do remember they had street shows. I would love to see them again. And I would love to see that talking fountain. And be an audience member for a show!

I'm terrified of heights and drops. That being said - if you can handle Splash Mountain, you can handle Jurassic Park - it might last one second longer, but I don't think it's even that. Your body clock truly can't distinguish between 50 some feet and 80 some feet.

Oh - I love ET - it reminds me of Peter Pan, with more oomph. Don't miss the Beetlejuice show at the Studios, and at IOA, the Flight of the Hippogrif is an easy coaster, on the order of Goofy's Barnstormer. If you don't feel up to doing the ride in the castle, at least go through the queue, and exit as you approach the Sorting Hat. There are two shows in Hogsmeade, a vocal concert featuring four Hogwarts students and two toads, and a dance performance by students from Durmstrang and Beauxbatons. CarouSeussel. Ditto recommendations for Terminator and Hollywood Horror Make-up Show. Blues Brothers in concert.

US and IOA have many more thrill rides than all of WDW. I was there last week. There are also quite a few that are more tame. We did not do everything and what we did do, we did multiple times.

From the sounds of it, most high motion rides are out like Forbidden Journey, Spiderman, Dragon Challenge, Hulk, Rip Ride Rockit. However, there are many fun rides there that are a blast as well:

Ripsaw Falls, Jurassic Park, Bluto's Bilge Rat, Flight of the Hippogriff, all of Seussland, Storm Force, Shrek 4D, Woody Woodpecker, ET, Fievals playground, Barney , Simpsons, MIB, Mummy (if you can handle Space Mtn), .

My only recommendation is to be a resort guest for the Unlimited Express Pass. Buying one only gives you one use per ride that takes them.
    1 Week at Wyndham Bonnet Creek 06/17/17 - 06/24/17; 1 Week at Orange Lake Resort 06/24/17 - 06/30/17; 1 week at OKW 12/03/17 - 12/10/17

It felt to me that Jurassic Park was alot steeper than Splash Mountain, but I could be wrong.

That's something else that I completely forgot...

Splash Mountain - 52 foot drop at 45 degree angle
Jurassic Park - 85 foot drop at 60 degree angle

Funny, maybe it's because it is a big boat and I sat near the back every time I rode it (to avoid getting soaked), but I do not remember thinking it was a bigger drop than Splash.

For me, I definitely think the bigger boat doesn't make it seem like such a big difference. I felt more secure in the bigger boat, I guess?

I thought so. I felt JP was more intense than SM. The bigger boat didn't help me much.
