Hilton Head (But Not Disney)

Is the Palmetto Dunes resort (I understand it's vacation rental homes and townhomes) a good place to stay? We are looking at a condo there for a long weekend vacation. We are deciding between the Village at Palmetto Dunes or the Spinnaker Townhomes (which I think is also in Palmetto Dunes)- anyone know anything about any of these places? I prefer a condo/vacation villa with a kitchen. Trying to save some dough by having breakfast and lunch in our place. Thank you!

Palmetto Dunes is a great place. We go for a week every year. We stay at Hickory Cove townhomes - they are near the Marriott hotel and it's about a 5 minute walk/2 minute bike ride to the beach. It's a quiet family kind of place, if you're looking for things to do, you need to leave the resort. The beach is beautiful - we love it!
