Default Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2

I didn't see a thread for this movie anywhere. Is anyone as super excited to see this as I am??? The reviews are starting to come out on Rotten Tomatoes, and so far so good. Tomorrow is the British premier so I'm sure there will be a lot more reviews coming out. Can't wait! For me, Harry Potter ranks right up there with WDW!

I'm taking my girls to the Midnight showing. I'm so glad it's a summer movie, because I wouldn't have let them do it during the school year, but I would have wanted to go so badly. I think I am as excited as they are!

I don't think this is it.

Rowling isn't crazy. Five or so years from now if she did another book it would be monstrous.

You can almost bank on it.

I didn't realize it was already that time! I just moved (new house, new state) and then went away for a weeklong conference, so I am really out of it. Thanks for the reminder. Can't wait to see it!

I'm sure she'll produce more work related to the Potter world, but I do believe the Harry saga is done. Only time will tell.

My boys can barely stand the wait anymore. They have grown up watching Harry Potter and are so excited to see this final movie.

We were discussing if there would ever be more Potter books, my boys and I agreed that we'd love to see something based on the backstory. Would love to see the life of Tom Riddle/Voldemort. How did he become so evil, see more about Harry's parents (as well as the Weasley's), and everything that happened leading up to Harry getting the scar and being the "boy who lived". We'd also love to see what happens to the main characters as they grow up, see their kids, but I somehow doubt that will ever happen.

I agree, I certainly think Harry's parents'/Voldemort etc backstory would be the only compelling plotlines left. You already have a skeleton story to fully flesh out with beloved characters. She could do Harry's kids, but really, with Voldemort now gone, what could replace him as a compelling conflict? Same goes for Harry's in between years.

I know there's no villian, but I would love to see a post-story based on the future kids. I think that would be fun

Woohoo! Yesterday, I went ahead and got cheap tickets for a 9:00 showing of Deathly Hallows part 1. Of the 15 plus theaters, only 2 are showing part 1, so now instead of waiting in line for hours, we will be spending that time watching the first part again. We won't even have to leave the theater between movies.

I learned my lesson after taking my DDs to their first Midnight movie-Eclipse. We thought we were getting there super-early at 9:30, and the line was already around 3 sides of the theater. I picture Harry Potter to be even worse.

Hoping to see it Saturday night. Can't wait..

ABC family was kind enough to play the early ones last weekend and we rented the last two the past two nights to prepare.

Got my son two tickets to the midnight show for his birthday. Strange thing, though--the date/time on it is July 14, 12:01. He was all set to go last night (or early this morning, rather) but called first and got the message that it's tonight, of course. Why do theaters do this on midnight showings?
