October 1 - 40th anniversary of MK open

I'm thinking I'm going to go down to MK for the day on October 1 and see if they do anything special. Anybody else going to be around?

I will be in the MK that day. Still waiting for DW to say that they are doing something for the 40th. I think they are doing, "Nothing Special." I thought that the parade would at least change, and the fireworks show too!

They (WDW) tweeted earlier this week that there was "special surprises" planned...but no word yet.

I have since heard that some of the "surprises" might be some VERY rare characters out for spontaneous meet and greets. No schedule, no locations, just sort of have to be in the right place at the right time. Apparently, there are LOTS of characters planned for this...

I ran my first ever runDisney at Expedition Everest this past May. Had a blast. I just turned 45, last month. I will be there with you. I found a great partner and we will be running the relay on the half marathon Wine and Dine. Really excited.

No MK for me this trip Just a short weekend to runDisney - so much fun!
