    Default **Fear Factor Returns!

Set your PVR! December 12th 8pm, NBC is rebooting Fear Factor! Host will be Joe Rogan! CAN NOT WAIT!

    From msnbc.com:
    By Anna Chan
Get ready for a bigger and crazier version of "Fear Factor."

NBC announced today that the competition show is set to return on Dec. 12 at 8 p.m., and not only that, the program will be more outrageous than before.

"We have taken the groundbreaking ‘Fear Factor’ franchise that many fans remember fondly and have ramped it up to make it even more challenging and competitive than ever before,” said Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and late-night programming at the network. “Once again, the contestants will have to face their ultimate fears to prevail -- and the tension and drama of that process will make for some riveting television.”

So how much bigger is it going to be? Expect some ginormous explosions, for starters. Executive producer Matt Kunitz said that the return of the show will use technology that the original version of the program wasn't able to, according to a June report by The Hollywood Reporter. Today's statement noted that viewers can expect stunts titled "Towering Inferno" and "Helicopter TNT Crash."

Each episode of the show will pit four teams of two who will be competing against each other. The reboot will be hosted by Joe Rogan, who also performed the same duties for the original version of the show

I like the physical challenges part. I stopped watching it, though, because of the over reliance on eating the disgusting stuff. For me, it went from a challenge into a way to dehumanize and degrade people.

This show was such a guilty pleasure, I swear. You watched, but you couldn't help but feel a little dirty about it.

    I'll be watching!

    a. Joe Rogan has really aged! Haven't seen him until these past episodes. He's still a great host for Fear Factor.
    b. Glad they didn't change much.
    c. Is it me, or are the stunts way more involved now? I got confused on a few of them.

    LOVE IT!

I, too, thought ole Joe was showing a bit of wear and tear. He's definitely a lot older looking than I would have expected. Too much high livin' maybe?

We watched and actually both of my kids really loved the show (in sort of an "ewww gross!!" kinda way).

I agree that the stunts are more involved now and it seems like they dialed the "gross factor" up a few notches, as well. The one where they had to eat five live scorpions (big ones!) was just NASTY.

Two random thoughts I'd like to throw out there ...
    1. Has anyone besides me ever wondered why no animal rights groups ever complain about this show (or any other reality show with similar animal-eating stunts?). I mean when you think about it, isn't it a bit barbaric to eat living creatures alive just for a game show? I know they're only insects, but still ...
    2. Personally, I cannot imagine how desperate these people must be to go through all this stuff for a measly 50 grand? I mean, after taxes and after you split the money with your teammate it's like what? Maybe $18k? There is just NO CHANCE IN HECK I would do any of these stuff for that little bit of money.

    I had the same thoughts!!
Joe..you aged dude!!!! HE is a good host, because he cheers on the teams. I like that.
The stunts are SUPER NUTS!!! Involved and confusing! Who dreams this stuff up?? Can you imagine the waiver you sign to be on that show. It's probably about 20 pages!!!!
It's not a show you can easily turn off.
My kids loved it!! Now...they are not dare devils, but I did say a few times during the course of the show...Girls...don't try this!!!
Enjoy...and Obviously Fear is NOT a factor for YOU! Love that it is back!
