A day at the beach

Has anyone gone to Disney for a vacation and then take a day trip to a beach to break up the week? If so, which one would you recommend and why? Thanks

We've not done a beach day mid trip, but we have left WDW & went to Cocoa Beach! It's super close & a great way to wind down & relax after that crazy whirlwind week at WDW! Short 1 hour drive & we really enjoyed our weekend there! Nice quiet beach, a couple of great seafood dining right on the ocean & Ron Jon's there is awesome!

We always go to Canaveral National Seashore.

What a beautiful beach! It is huge and never, ever crowded - we went July 3rd and only saw about 30-40 people.

Just be sure to check the launch schedules. They close the area for some launches (I know they did for the space shuttle, not sure on other launches).
