Default CSR Pepper Market changing to TS?

Did anyone else hear that the PM is changing to a buffet for breakfast and lunch? That mean there will only by the Cafe Rix as a CS? I hope not, we are thinking of possibly staying at CSR next trip and definitely need a good CS.

From 12/4 to 1/4, Disney is conducting a test at Pepper Market and Maya Grill. Pepper Market will go to a buffet for both Breakfast and Lunch. Maya Grill will no longer be open for Breakfast.

For purposes of the DDP, Pepper Market will continue to count as a Quick Service meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner and they will eliminate the automatic service charge.

The test is scheduled to end on 1/4, but Disney is only saying that what will happen after that won't be known until the test is complete and the results have been analyzed.

BTW, the price for the PM buffet is $14.99/$8.99 (adult/child) for breakfast and $16.99/$9.99 for lunch.

The biggest problem I see with this is now diners will not be able to share a meal. We are not big eaters and occasionally get one counter service meal to split for lunch. I am sure this was part of the plan though. Forcing us to buy something that we do not need or want. Just another example of offering less options for diners.

IS the buffet a good buy for breakfast? You figure an egg sandwich might run you at least $10 anyhow, plus drink or fruit cup on the side, so you looking at $15 anyhow. I don't know. Just not a fan of buffets. We really want a quick to go option, but Cafe Rix doesn't have much for kid's breakfast - no mickey waffles.

Any updates at all? Interested in finding out what is going on as we are staying at CS again in the fall and are trying to figure out our meal choices

I am interested in an update, as well. Do they plan to continue the buffet or go back to the individual stations?? Buffet is just not for us at any meal..
