Buzz Light Year puzzles me...help

OK unfortunately our family hasn't been able to go to Disney for the past three years so we've got the itch pretty bad. My wife and I are in early planning stages for our next trip and in our discussion we got off topic.
I have a quandry: it seems as though the Buzz portrayed in the parks is the Buzz who totally believes he is a space ranger. Has anyone asked him if he knows Woody? If he doesn't then I wonder why Disney decided to not have the Buzz who had belonged to Andy. Or perhaps he's in another location. I have met him at tomorrow land but not at HWS and haven't been to Toy Story Mania yet.

I'm not really understanding. You can meet Buzz WITH Woody and sometimes Jessie over at DHS. When you see him in Tomorrowland, it's because "his ride" is there. Woody doesn't have a ride in MK, but he's sometimes hanging out in Frontierland (where he "belongs").

Why does it make a difference whether it's Andy's Buzz or just Buzz in general?

I dont care which Buzz Disney uses, I just wanted to know if Andys Buzz is in the parks. He is the main character the movies and I wondered if he was in Hollywood Studios.

The 'Tomorrowland' Buzz is for sure in 'Space Ranger' mode. It is to coincide with Space Ranger Spin.

When you meet Buzz at DHS, he is with Woody, usually. They are pals.

So yeah, same Buzz suits, different attitudes.
