Can you get a special ticket for early admission to HP if you are staying on Disney property?

How do you get from WDW to Universal and about what does it cost?

    Thanks!

No you can't get early admission staying at a Disney resort. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is not a Disney owned property, it's owned by Universal. As far as I know you can only get into WWOHP an hour early if you are staying at one of the Universal resorts.

We have used our own car to drive to Universal from Disney. You could take a cab, but not sure what that would cost. We've paid around $20 to get from AKL to WL once, so I'd imagine going to Universal would cost a great deal more. There may be other modes of transportation to get from WDW to Universal that I'm unaware of.

If you can do it, I'd recommend staying at one of the Universal Studios for a night or two if you plan to visit the Universal resorts. We stayed for two nights in December and really enjoyed our stay. You get an hour early admission into Harry Potter, and you get Express Pass with your room. Express Pass is sort of like Fastpass, but you get to use it as often as you like if you are a resort guest. Totally worth it, and the resorts are amazing!!

Thanks for the information. We will only be in Florida 3 nights- mainly going for the flower show at EPCOT.

A cab is about $60 round trip, and I find it most convenient - you can grab one right at your resort (no need to call ahead) and again at the entrance to Universal where there are dozens of them waiting.

Doesn't Mears run a shuttle from WDW resorts to Universal and SeaWorld??? You may have to actually book the shuttle, I'm not certain..

Thanks!!! I thought so... Wasn't sure though... I either have my own car or have friends who pick me up from Disney and drive over to Universal... Last year I rented a car... Nice to know Mears is pretty cheap with the shuttle... I guess they run limited hours though???

When I called yesterday, she said they will pick you up at your Disney resort in the morning and you can return to Disney property from 2:15 pm until closing right outside the Universal entrance (the shuttle runs every hour). But you have to schedule the transportation no later than the day before.

I figure if we do this I am going to have them pick us up at 7:30 am so we are sure to get in rightwhen it opens. It will already be crowded with Universal hotel guests getting in one hour before park opens.

Thanks!!! Great to know they run until park closing... But, now with the night time show in Universal, I wonder if they will accommodate for this added time...

I also asked about the night show and the person at guest services said it has no scheduled start date and probably won't be announced until a few days before it . May even be summer before it starts

I didn't know much about Universal until a few days ago. I am surprised they don't have an evening fireworks show but she said zoning won't allow it... ??

The night time show and new Universal parade starts May 8th... it has already been confirmed... I knew there was something I forgot to report here in the Universal section of the site...
