    Default Weekend Crowds

Many crowd tracking online sources select Saturday and Sunday as preferred days to visit the Universal theme parks. This seems counterintuitive. I have always assumed that the Universal parks would be the preferred theme parks for local teenagers and thus would be more crowded on the weekends (tourists + local visitors).

Has anyone experienced the Universal parks on weekends vs. weekdays? What has your experience been regarding crowds?
Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

All of my experiences in visiting the Universal parks have been weekends are much, much more crowded. We have been going since the mid 90's.

I usually go mid week and have always had decent luck with crowds and all. I am pretty much of the opinion that everything is busier on the weekends. No matter when you go, getting there early early early is the key.

Thank you for the response. This just seems logical. Seems so strange that multiple WDW info websites claim lower crowds on the weekends.

We have also always gone mid-week on our previous trips with decent luck, until our last trip in Jan 2009 (off peak). We went on two days with completely different results.

Our trip on Monday was a nightmare. Over 30 minute wait just to get to the parking booths to enter the parking structure, only 2 rides in the first 4 hours at US, a total of only 5 rides over a total of 8 hours in the park.

When went on Wednesday, it was what we normally experience. We finished 5 major rides at IOA in less than 2 hours and followed that with 5 major rides at US. 10 rides, 2 parks, all within 6 hours.

Grabbed dinner and were in MK by 5:30 pm.

Hoping to repeat Wednesday's good luck on our next trip.
