I've been to CBR, ASM and CSR. CSR is the best of those 3 in my opinion.

Perhaps we'll try it another time. Our goal is to stay at all of them at some point.

I have to say, though snakes or no snakes (I haven't noticed and I've been there several times), the pool area and slide at CSR is terrific! If the pool is a big part of your stay, you're not going to do much better.

Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're NOT out to get you!

Have decided to make it CBR again--really one of my favorites. Just love that tropical feel, and this is kind of our combination beach/Disney little trip. I've been surprised at the number of responses to my casual post, and will def give the CSR serious thought another time.
    (I still hate snakes, though....)

Actually, it's supposed to represent a temple such as ChIchen Itza which had these figures on the sides of the steps. Very good copy really. It's actually the Mayan god Kukulkan or feathered serpent. So, if it helps it's not a snake but an idol.

I do understand that. Nope--doesn't help.

I was thinking, yall should try that resort sometime when you all make a winter trip, that way you can request to stay away from the pool area and wouldn't have any temptations to wander over there unless the other family members wanted to.

You are probably just as likely to see a real snake at any WDW resort as any other. The whole place was built what amounts to filled in swamp. But, actual snake sighting are relatively rare. By the way my wife didn't know what she was getting into the first time we went into "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience" She never went to that show again.
