If you can still do it, the best way to get butter beer is by going inside the Tavern to the bar and ordering it there. The outside lines in the center of the wizarding world are always longest.

I've heard good things about this butterbeer stuff. Last time I went to Universal Hogwarts was still in construction. What is butterbeer? Do they make a kids version? Sorry Im not caught up with the whole Universal scene. Only stayed are the Hard Rock 2 times in the last 10 years.

It is a non-alcoholic drink that tastes like creamy butterscotch.
It's good. Try it.

Yes,, yes it is... I finally tried my DW's for the first time. Clearly people will wait in line for anything. Examples: Butterbeer, Atlantis, and Stitches Escape.

We were there two weeks ago on saturday. Yes, there was wait of maybe 10-15 minutes. I loved, LOVED the frozen Butterbeer. I was expecting it to be too sweet for my taste...but I was so pleasantly surprised! Yum!

We just got back and while there were lines for Butterbeer, we did not wait in them. Tip: don't stop at the first stand nearest the train, move further in, there will be a second stand that IMO doesn't get as crowded.
Also, it may have helped that we were moving OUT of WWOHP just as everyone was coming IN, and because everyone was more interested in getting into the lines for Forbidden Journey, the wand show and Dueling Dragons, we lucked out in our quest for Butterbeer (thank you, on-site perks!)

I haven't noticed the lines to be too bad lately. Our favorite is the frozen. Mmmmmmm! It's worth the drive down I-4 just for that!
We get our butterbeer, our fizzing whiz-bees (now there's a thread all on its own! Have y'all TRIED these!?) , and a pretzel from the cart across from Ollivander's wand shop and we go sit behind the 3 Broomsticks and stare at Hogwarts, soaking up the atmosphere & the HP movie soundtrack music! We can easily sit there for an hour or more!
John, I must try that recipe!!! Thanks!

I have a very low tolerance for sweet foods, so that may have been why the frozen butter beer was so unappetizing to me, Christine--too caramelly. I would like to try the fizzing whiz-bees you mention. What does it taste like?

Is that 2nd stand new??? I don't recall a second stand further into Wizarding World... The only stand I remember was the one by the train prop which had two lines....
I thought I heard about them adding more stands and places to buy butterbeer to keep up with demand, lower lines, and please the customers who were waiting on those long lines and missing out on the other things in the parks... If true, maybe that is why the lines are shorter (and if so GREAT business decision!!!)... I can say sales of butterbeer (and potter merchandise in general ) have not decreased in the slightest...

There is a stand/cart up by the bridge near the entrance to Forbidden Journey.

Just got back from trip to Universal and Disney. The lines for butterbeer were not too bad. I stood at outdoor cart for 10 minutes. It would have been quicker if the man in front of me didn't have 5 family members (all adults) join him as he was being waited on! There were two outdoor carts or can go inside Three Broomsticks. We shared the frozen it was very good. With souvenier cup you can get drink refills for .79
