Default Have any of you ever seen a YUCK factor like this?

Last May I was sitting outside of Space Mountain enjoying the nice weather while my daughter and her friend we riding Space Mountain when I saw OMG! a real YUCK.

A lady and her daughter which appeared to be about 10 yrs old were both eating a very large slice of pizza each.

Apparently some of their group just left Space Mountain and the mother walked a short distance to talk with them. I then looked back over at the daughter and saw her drop her ( almost complete slice of pizza ) on the pavement, crust side down. She calmly picked up the pizza and looked at her mother. The mother motioned for her to come to where she was. The mother then took the pizza slice and looked it over and then brushed off the crust and gave it back to her daughter.... YUCK!!!

I could not believe what I had just seen. I'm sorry there is not any pizza that good.

What are your thoughts or stories... I hope not worse than this....

I was strolling through EPCOT one day when I saw a baby throw his pacifier on the ground and the mother just picked it up and gave it back to him. Mind you not even ATTEMPTING to wipe it off.

I'm a wicked germaphob and these types of things always make me I have an endless supply of hand sanitizer among other things because I just cannot handle the thought of germs. You should see some of the OCD fits I have lol.

I have another pizza story similar to yours but it wasn't in Disney. I'll share that one too. One day dbf and I were at a casino and I went to the food court late at night cause I was starving. As I sat down at one of the tables to eat I notice a REALLY drunk guy over to my right diagonal from me. He was so drunk he couldn't keep his head from twirling. I love to people watch and the casino is the best for this.....as I'm gawking at him with wide eyed amusement I watch him attempting to eat a huge slice of pizza which takes about ten tries for him to find the pizza to his mouth, well finally after taking his first bite he then drops it to the floor, helpings side down. He proceeded to attempt to pick it up in the process wiping it all over the floor because he just did not have the coordination to pick it up and then I thought okay he's going to throw it out.....nope, he then proceeded to eat it!

The pavement is a lot more sanitary than the handrails in the queues that everybody touches.

And the floor in most people's homes has a lot less bacteria/germs than their kitchen counters.

Eating Dirt/sand may be a little crunchy, but it's actually a lot less likely to make you sick than n touching the handrails and then touching your mouth or nose. . . which most people don't even think about when they are at theme parks or other crowded places.

I imagine all the people who walked in the restroom then walked on the spot. Belch!

Ugh! When my youngest was 3 we were staying at the Beach Club. I was on the phone on hold trying to snag a last minute ADR, and I turned around and noticed him eating something. What are you eating, I asked, and he turned and said Raisins...before I could even get the words out of my mouth my brain screamed at me WE DIDN'T BRING ANY RAISINS!!! and I smacked them out of his hand. They were in a the little box (thank God) and they flew across the room. He looked up with huge eyes, slack-jawed ( I didn't hit him BTW I hit at the box) and I said we didn't bring raisins, where did you get those???

From under the bed. We had a long talk then about not eating things you find. The only comfort I have had in this horrible moment through the years is at least they were in the box.

OMG! How could I forget? Thanks for the above post.

When DS11 was 3 we went to pigeon forge. While at one of the resturaunts I looked over at him and saw him chewing on something. I asked him what he was chewing on. He answered "gum". Knowing that I did not give him any gum. I asked him where he got it. He pointed to under the table. I wanted to I immediately told him to spit it out. I lost my appetite.

Ewww! My story isn't nearly as gross, but I still think it's pretty bad. We were at an outdoor restaurant and DS was a baby in a high chair. He threw his sippy cup on the ground. This VERY drunk woman came over, with a beer in her hand, and insisted on picking up the cup. She leaned over and proceeded to pour her beer all over the sippy cup! Then she proudly handed it back to him, acting all helpful and proud of herself. Yuck!

Fortunately, most humans have really good immune systems. My kids have put some really disgusting things into their mouths, and I guess I probably did too, I just don't remember!

Having worked with children for 25 years, my motto is..

"Once they have eaten it.. it is no longer dirt, it's earth."

    Keeps me sane.
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way.

Eh...I don't get grossed out when food falls on the pavement provided the food AND the pavement are both dry. Not many germs and bacteria can survive on dry, usually hot, pavement. The first example of the crust side down pizza...not even the slightest bit gross to me. I'd let my kids eat it, especially if that was the ONLY piece of pizza.

    Indoor floors, though...that's another story.

I guess I'm just not really a germophobe. I don't even own any hand sanitizer. One of my sons has a phobia of washing his hands. He is the one that is NEVER sick.

Well I guess when you’re paying a lot for a slice of pizza you better eat it no matter what...lol. I couldn’t just knowing thousands of people stepped there and birds well you know what birds do . That's enough for me to pass on that slice. Especially a face down piece
Been there, done that and going back!!! See ya real soon !!!

Okay, my story doesn't involve pizza being dropped on the ground, but it does involve handrails in the WDW queues...

DH and I were waiting in the Soarin' queue when we noticed two children playing on the handrails. The mother yelled at them to stop since the line was moving, but one of the kids sat on the rail a moment not looking quite right. He then sneezed and blew his nose into his hands and proceeded to wipe them off all over the top of the handrail Many of us stood there in complete disgust before moving forward - very careful not to get within a foot of the rail. Just another reason to carry hand sanitizer with you while in the parks

On a side note, my DH and I went to a popular cell phone store back in 2009 to pick out new cell phones. After handling quite a few phones on display, I left not only with a new cell phone but also with a case of pink eye! I now carry hand sanitizer with me at all times.
