    Default Which on site Hotel?

Ok, now that I've decided to tack on a 3 night/2day Universal stay to our 5 day Disney trip, which onsite hotel would you recommend?

3 of us, Me, the Wife, and our 13 yr old daughter - I'm leaning toward the Hard Rock.

    Suggestions? Comments?

We stayed at Royal Pacific last year and just got home from the Hard Rock a few weeks ago. I liked both, but I think I would go back to RP again if only because of the price (it's the cheapest of the 3). RP is closer to IOA but Hard Rock is closer to US, but they're equally far away (which is not really at all) from the opposite park--does that make sense?

Although, I found it easier to get snacks for DD while at Hard Rock (at RP we had to sit at the lounge to order her cookies, while Hard Rock has an ice cream shop onsite). I picked HR this trip because of the pool (it has a slide, RP does not) but we ended up not swimming at all while we were there. RP seemed like it had more cute little gift shops, but I liked the Kitchen restaurant at Hard Rock better than the Islands Dining Room at RP.

I'm not sure I'm remembering correctly but I think the HR room was bigger than RP, so if there are 3 of you going that may factor in. Your teen might like the decor of the HR better--I know my daughter did, but she inherited her dad's love of music.

I don't think you can go wrong with either (I can't speak for Portofino as I've yet to even see it), and you definitely can't beat staying onsite.

Did that help at all or just make things more confusing?

We stayed at Hard Rock last December and LOVED it. I honesly don't even know if we'll ever try the other Universal resorts. I can't imagine not going back to Hard Rock. We loved the location of the resort, it was priced right down the middle of the 3, and there was nothing we needed that this resort didn't have. I have two boys, ages 12 and 10, who play guitar and love music in general, so perhaps that has something to do with how much we loved it. The boys definitely felt like rock stars!!
