In your opinion, which value resort has the prettiest landscaping and theme?

I have yet to see AoA, but from the pictures - I would say that one. If I have to base it on the one I have visited - AsMo

Do any of them have palm trees and lush plants? I'm not one for the huge icons, etc. and I thought all the values had those. I just don't want to be feel bombarded with them.

I think that All Star Movies has the nicest vegetation since it is one of the older value resorts. It as the other values have the large icon.

Art of Animation is very nice and has a lot of theming.

If you are not into the icons and into the lush vegetation I would go with the moderate resort Port Orleans Riverside if you can work it into your budget.

    Hope this helps....

They have updated the greenery alot at POP and it is better than it was a few years ago, but it still has alot of the big icons. The icons are kinda the trademark of the Values so you really won't get away from them.

Art of Animation is a beautiful combination of landscaping and characters, but it is still quite young. It's really nice now but will be spectacular in a couple of years.

I loveAoA - but before I really enjoyed looking around POP. And they are connected by a bridge so you can enjoy walking around both if you have the time!

We are thinking about staying at a value resort for a few nights before transferring to YC to save some money and lengthen our vacation. Staying at a Moderate, we would save $$, but staying at a Value, we would save $$$ We are just so spoiled though. I don't know if it would be worth staying at a Value for us, not having a pool slide or hot tub. I guess a couple nights wouldn't hurt us. Decisions, Decisions....

I always say I prefer pop. Love the lake, location and theme. Didn't care for por.
BUT...based on your info I think you would really like it. On the booking site I often price check pop and ill get an alternative offer for por for just a small amount extra.

As far as "pretty," I don't think you really get that at any of the Values. Not that they are unattractive, just that they seem to be more about "family fun" than "pretty." I'm a deluxe girl who recently stayed at a value, Pop, and really enjoyed it, though. The theming was bright and fun. The bus service and everything was very satisfactory. I found it a good place to stay and wouldn't hesitate to go back. Especially if it's just for a few nights.

That's perfect. As I was conflicted how to answer the OP, this sums up how I feel about Value resorts. It's not so much pretty with these resorts...but bright and fun.

I did this 2 years ago. We had a good time and stayed at POP but when we had down time away from the parks instead of going back to POP we went to WL. It was then that we realized we are spoiled. We just love having the lobby to relax in and the lodge to explore. Well we tried and now we know, although I am tempted to try a moderate . Most likely POFQ.

AoA gets my vote because it's brand new. I did notice that the huge plastic icons kind of overshadow some of the plantings. I'm sure the kids love it, though.

Favorite part of AoA - the Cozy Cone pool area. Adorable....

The Jazz section of All Star Music is by far the "prettiest" area in a value resort. The area is especially pretty at night. After that I would go with AofA.

....even though AoA is new ....I really think they missed miserably on the theming, and in particular the landscaping. It seemed "barren" to me when I was there last August (my brother was there with his family while we were at POP...so we visited frequently).

...I know that POP is about 9 years older than AoA and the vegetation has had time to 'mature' ....but even when we went to POP in 2004 shortly after it opened .....it had a far more 'lush' feel to it than AoA.

    ....my vote goes to POP.
