Philly Meet Saturday May 18th

I started a new thread so everyone can see the date.

I would like to start getting a list compiled of everyone who is coming. Please include your name and the name of anyone else in your party. If we have a big group I might get name tags for everyone.

It will be at Maggiano's Italian Restaurant on 12th & Filbert.

We can order off of the menu instead of getting served family style. They have a web site if anyone needs directions or wants to check out the menu.

They are asking for two weeks notice so everyone please check your calendars.

I'm looking at options now of taking Amtrak up, and then my family driving up later that night so we can go to the game on Sunday.

If I could get some help from you knowledgeable Philly folks, that would be great! If I get off at the 30th Street Station, I could cab it to the restaurant? It doesn't look like it's very far. And any recommendations for a good hotel closeby?

Mel, if you have an Amtrak ticket, you can ride any of the SEPTA Commuter Rail trains for free between 30th Street Station and Market East Station by showing your ticket. The restaurant is about 1 block away from Market East. You could also take the subway (Market Frankford Line) from 30th Street to 13th Street. If the weather is nice, you can even walk, depending on what time your train gets in.

I haven't stayed at many hotels in Philly but there are two Marriots and one Loews very close to the restaurant. They would also be close if you were to take the Broad Street line to the Phillies game.

Argh! I have been so awful with paying attention to schedules lately. So, we actually have tickets to the Phillies game on the 18th as it's part of our partial season ticket package. Of course it has to be a 4:05pm start! I will probably have to head straight to the game. If by some chance I magically don't have to go into work, I still have enough time to come for an hour or so before needing to head out to catch the game, but I wouldn't count on that.
