    Default 2.5yo....early or late dining?

I'm thinking we should go for early dining (and then you get the later show, right?). Does anyone have any experience with pros and cons of early vs. late dining with a child this age?

    Thanks!

    That's a great question!

I would recommend early seating for that age. On our last cruise, we were late seating and were seated near a family with little ones - they cried and fussed because they were absolutely exhausted! The children were miserable, the parents didn't enjoy their meals and frankly neither did those of us in close proximity.

I think 8:30 SOUNDS doable to folks with little kiddos, but when the courses drag on Til 10:00 or more, it's just too much for them.

I would recommend the earlier seating.

    Always early...

It's dinner and a movie (not movie and dinner) for a reason...

You could always head up to Topsiders (or whatever it's called on your ship) when you feel like eating. We've always picked early seating on every cruise going back ten plus years now.

Early! Dinner can run 2 hours or more. During the Early Seating, the waiters are more compelled to move the meal along, since there is another dinner seating coming up. At the late seating, it's a lot more laid back, which is great for adults, but not so great when it's 10pm and you still haven't had dessert yet and your little ones are beat!

We did early and I can't even imagine doing the late seating with kids of any age! It's just way too late.
