    1) Who was the first major dog character to be animated in a Disney animated feature film?

There have been several answers for this.

If you are wanting major as in having main character status, I too would go with Lady (and Tramp), or are you looking for the first dog character to have a fair amount of screen time and appear more than once? Oh, how the specifics will get me over-thinking things. Oh, well!

I'm not quite sure I understand how Bruno is a "major" character. I would've thought that you had meant as a "starring character", since Bruno, to me, anyways, was more of a support character, chasing Lucifer.

But, it's your question, and your answer

    Let's try these:

    1) In what Disney live-action feature did Hayley Mills' father *play* the father of a family?

    2) Most of us know that Disney's Animal Kingdom was to have featured a fictional-animal "land" called Beastly Kingdomme. What are at least three remains of this "unbuilt land" that currently still exist in the park?

    3) In what city did Herbie Rides Again take place?

    4) The 1979 Disney film, The Black Hole, was a "first" for Disney in what regard?

    5) In Saving Mr. Banks, Tom Hanks (as Walt) wears a tie-tack with the initials, "STR". What do these letters stand for, and what is/was it?

The context of the question came from "Disney Trivia from the Vault". My guess is that normally less detail is applied to supporting animated characters (cost) but Bruno was fully animated

The initials "STR" as seen on Walt's tie, stand for the "Smoke Tree Ranch". The Smoke Tree Ranch is located in Palm Springs. This is where Walt built a second home in 1957, once Disneyland became successful. This little patch of heaven is often referred to as, “Walt’s hidden hideaway.”

I can't say that I know them off the top of my head. I think one of these was the fire-breathing "dragon" cave that you would see on the riverbank as you sail by on the Discovery River Boats. Of course, there's always the dragon on the park's logo -- I don't think that counts, though.

You guys got all five fairly easily :P

On the Animal Kingdom/Beastly Kingdomme question, I'll take the answers you guys gave, but, here's what I was looking for:

    1) The "dragon rock" that you can/could see, looking to the right, while crossing from Discovery Island to Camp Minnie-Mickey. This is *not* the "dragon's cave" with the fire.

    2) The cave (withOUT the fire, obviously) still exists, and can be seen just past the dragon rock that I described above.

    3) The geysers, while not "spewing" any longer, are located on the river up near Harambe village. If you look to your left as you cross the bridge into Harambe (like you're heading for Kilimanjaro Safaris first thing in the morning), you'll see them

But, also, yes, the things you guys described, I'll take as well

It seems there are still quite a few different references and early beginnings of the fantasy aspect that Animal Kingdom would've had. Maybe the Avatar project will get rid of the dragon cave...

I actually looked up photos of this place and comparded them to the Blue Bayou Restaurant at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. There are so many similarities but so many differences as well. It is funny how they can capture the same familiar feeling but with some different style choices. Really cool! Worth a peek for yourself!
