Art of Animation Suites for family of 6

Just started looking again on intercot to plan a November 2013 trip for a family of 6.

Just trying to gather all info, opinions, recommendations on the Art of Animation as a place for us to stay. Looks incredible, and the price is right. when was this built? Our last trip was 2011 and we stayed at the poly...our youngest is bigger now so we have outgrown the typical WDW rooms!

We stayed at AoA last October and we got a suite. There was only 4 of us and there was plenty of room. We plan on going back in December of this year, this time 6 of us. You will love it. I would recommend the Nemo suites as it is close to everything.

They opened up in of 2012. We stayed there in Dec. Loved the decore and want to come back to do the Cars area. We were staying in the Little Mermaid rooms that were just reg rooms not the suites.

I think you would love the suites and plenty of room for 6 as long as your group will share beds.

It would work for a family of 4 with 2 teens or older kids too. Each child could have a double sofa bed or murphy bed and the adults get their own room with bath.

And plenty of room for crib if a younger child is in room. When we used to get a pack-and-play type crib in POR the room was way too crowded.

Love the theming and kids with love the pool.

Art of Animation opened up about a year ago.

We stayed in a Cars suite for one night last summer.

I think this resort is perfect for families with 2 adults, and 4 young kids. The room is laid out well, and it's very functional.

I will caution that the rooms look larger in photos than they really are, but they are still plenty large enough for your family. Storage space is kind of tight for clothes and such, and you may find you will have to live out of suitcases with 4 kids.

Also, as nice as the rooms/decor/theme are, it is still a Value resort. Since you stayed at the Polynesian last time, this will be a large step down, amenity wise. As long as you are okay with that, you will have a good time. For us, the Values (especially with kids) are fun places to visit, but not our favorite to stay at for a long time. Our kids, to be honest, were very underwhelmed by the pool. It's just a large pool...nothing fun there like slides or fountains. And, we found the general vibe to be too stimulating for our kids (everything is bright, loud, crowded, etc.).

However, if the price is right, and you are okay with staying Value, then go for it!

Personally, I find the cost of the suites to be very close to getting 2 rooms at a moderate, and I would choose a Moderate over the AoA if we had to make that choice.
