    Default POP review

Some may remember that I'd posted a thread to gather some tips and opinions on POP a while back. Now that my trip has come and gone, I can finally give my own 2 cents.

I'd give POP an overall score of a 80%. Keep in mind that we only used the resort for sleeping and filling our mugs with soda when continuing to read.

Upon our arrival, we were showered with bubbles and welcomed by a cast member. I thought that was a cute touch! I felt instantly happy. And walking into the lobby, I loved looking at the cases of pop culture paraphernalia on display. The black and white photos behind the counters were really fun, too. Everyone that helped us fit the mold perfectly. Happy, polite, helpful and magical. We even got bumped up to a building that was closer to main building so we could get to the buses faster...without asking. Thanks, POP!

We didn't use the pool, but it looked really nice. Of course we patroned Petals for a drink. Great selections and nice service.

The food court was fine for us. We never ate there, but we got our morning drinks and snacks at night. Completely adequate for our needs.

The bus system. I think the best part was listening to the music while we waited...and waited...and waited. Long waits, get it? But once we caught on to this, we arrive to our bus line earlier so as not to "run late" for opening or for reservations. Once we conquered that, no problems.

Checking out was super easy. My boarding passes were printed for me. They held our bags while we spent our final hours in the parks.

For longer trips, we'll go back to staying at Moderates. But we really liked POP for this quick trip.

EXACTLY !! We have only stayed at POP on short trips, or over-nighters before moving on to either POR or AKL. I love POP, IMHO it's the nicest value of them all. I love to run and running the hour glass lake is incredible. The route takes you around and over to AoA....what a great run, nearly as good as the run along the river at Riverside !! I have eaten at the food court and it was very good, sometimes very busy, but I've seen Riverside just as busy !!

I have stayed at Pop before and like the resort. I would stay there again. The food court was not bad. Had a few meals there after coming in from the parks.

I actually thought of staying there on my next trip. It will basically be my husbands first trip (he had been years ago when it was only the MK).

We are back at POP for 8 nights in December. I like it the best of the value resorts and am looking forward to staying.

Just are at the resort for sleeping- spend the rest of our time exploring the world. While I would love to upgrade my husband likes eating at nice places so figure the extra $$ that will go for at least one nice dining experience each day. Just hope California Grill is open since it is a favorite!

    Thanks for your review!

I honestly think the POP is a good resort with a lot of perks for the money!!!

    1. The Busing is awesome at the Pop. I've stayed there 4 times, and they run lots and lots of buses! It's organized. My husband was never happy with the busing at the Riverside, and won't go back. You could wait 45 minutes at a back Riverside bus stop for a bus to come.

    2. Resort is fun!!!

    3. Rooms are small, but you know what...I'm in Disney, I don't want to spend my time in the room, I want to be out and about, so I can make it work!

    4. Pool and food court are nice and centrally located.

Pop offers a lot for the price. No, it's not fancy, but like I said, I don't spend a lot of time in the room.

Glad I came across this thread. We'll be at the POP for one night in a couple of weeks - then moving over to the Boardwalk Villas (got a good airfare to go the day before).

Looking forward to seeing it after all these positive comments!

We have always championed the values, especially Pop. But after spending a few nights last week, we are so disappointed. The room looked battered, the food court's new menu, horrible, and the cast members, well, tired. After a few days there, we went over to Universal (we have a niece and nephew staying with us), and spent one night at a Hampton Inn. Not only was the room at least forty dollars cheaper, a nice FREE breakfast offered, but it was cleaner, brighter and the employees happy. What happened, Pop?
Your attention please, the Walt Disney World Railroad is now boarding for a trip around the Magic Kingdom
