Default Sci-Fi Diner...Have you had this?

More than excited to try Sci-Fi for the first time. Just 2 short (long) weeks away. Fun menu. Reviews read here and there. But what do my trusty Intercot-ers think of these specific dishes??? Any thoughts based on experience?

Vegetarian Sheppard's Pie Sci Fi-style Fresh Vegetables and Vegetable Patty topped with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Melted Cheddar

Chicken Pasta Whole-Grain Penne Pasta with Garlic, Basil, Cream, and fresh Tomatoes topped with Parmesan Cheese

Flame-broiled New York Strip Steak with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables topped with Blue Cheese Butter and crispy Onion Rings

And if you suggest NONE of the above, but something else...I'd love to read the feedback.

For the record, I HATE Sci Fi. It was the worst food I've ever had at Disney.

But, DD LOVES it, and convinced me to go back on our last trip. The steak wasn't totally horrible. My Mom had the pasta and didn't love it ... I think the steak is the best choice.

Our boys have alway loved the atmosphere at Sci-Fi Dine In. We have always had very enjoyable meals when we stuck to burgers, onion rings and milkshakes. They are Yummy!. But when venturing out into other food items, you may be disappointed. Think drive-in food and not gourmet dining. The food is secondary to the atmosphere.

We tried Sci-fi for the first time a couple weeks ago and liked it. My daughter in law had the strip steak and enjoyed it. My oldest son and I "built" our own burger, the grandson had nugets and my youngest son and wife had the pic-nic burger (burger with hot dog on top) and thought it was pretty good. I also had a chocolate shake and for desert a hot fudge sundae. My grandson realy enjoyed sitting in a car for his meal.

Love it We go twice every trip. We usually get malts and cherry cokes in keeping with the drive-in theme. Sorry I can't recall our last meals, probably burgers and veggie burger but I do recall everyone was happy. The ambiance can't be beat!

it's been a while since we were there but I remember the Ribs were good as were the Rueben, Onion Rings and Burger. I think I might steer clear of the Chicken and Pasta dish, IMO it seems out of place so I'm not sure how the sauce would be.

I think what you'll find is that the people who like SciFi(including myself) stick to basic burgers, sandwiches, salads. When you expand to steaks and pastas -that's when it appears people seem more dissatisfied. It's a fun environment -but stick to the basics and have fun. Save the steak dinner for Shula's/Yachtsman, etc.

I ordered the vegetarian burger and it was served on a bun with arugula on top and cucumber salad. I actually thought it was one of the best vegetarian burgers I have ever had. The patty was built well enough that it didn't fall apart but moist enough like a real "juicy" burger. I am not a vegetarian but I wasn't in the mood for meat that night.

I agree. We always go for lunch because the sandwiches and lunch food seems better.

Keep in mind, it is a very dark atmosphere. Don't order anything that requires cutting, etc (the ribs are not easy to eat lol)

We go each trip just to get out of the heat and for the atmosphere. We only get milkshakes & onion rings and enjoy the sci-fi loop.

We always get the burgers, and they have always been really good. One time DH and I opted to try something different. I think one of us ordered a steak, one of us ordered a pasta dish.....next trip we went back to ordering burgers.

We were considering going for dessert for New Years Eve but i didnt know if that was allowed. Onion rings and Milkshakes sounds like a good idea.

We always go for lunch and my old stand by is always the BLT Soup without the B. I also get either a small salad or onion rings (to share).

My lunch is usually the lighter meal of the day for me and the soup is really good IMO. It hits the spot.

In general, my family has gotten all kinds of meals there and has always thought everything was good. We do eat there every trip to Disney.

We love the cars and watching movies, it's a very unique experience. As for the food it is ok but not the best. The steak is good if your on the DDP otherwise I get the all american which is the burger with a hotdog on top.
    Enjoy your trip.

Thanks everyone. Excellent feedback. Sounds like I'm not getting the full experience if I opt for the Pasta or Steak.

The description given about the Veggie burger sounds totally up my alley. In 13 days, I might be eating THAT!

    Thank you!!!

Just ate at sci-Fi yesterday. I had the chicken pasta, it was soooo good!! I highly recommend it. Tons of chicken. Sauce had great flavor. My sister had it too and loved it as well. Two others had the steak, both thought those were cooked perfect and really good.

We were pleasantly surprised with how much we enjoyed this dining experience.

I always get a burger- I don't think it is on the dinner menu but you can request it. Can't go wrong with the shakes, burger ad onion rings!

Fun place to see. Can't say we are thrilled with the food but we usually go for a shared onion rings and shakes and the kids get their fun fix of being in the place. Shakes are yummy!!!
