    Default Poly in aug?

We grew up going to the poly and now I'm so excited to take my kids for their first trip to disney. I always imagined it to be at the poly but is it a mess due to the dvc construction? They are too little to care... But you know how we all picture our magical trips in our mind..... Should we chance it or stay on another monorail hotel? My boys will be three and almost two... Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!!

The main Nanea pool is scheduled to close in August to have the whole deck area redesigned as well as the volcano structure itself removed.

The Great Ceremonial House will have sections of it closed for renovation and DVC construction will be continuing around that time.

An update to my post. They are now saying the pool will close late July and reopen in March 2015.

    Tikiman,
Will the "quiet pool" be available to guests during the volcano pool construction? And any word on if poly guests will be given access to any of the pools at nearby resorts? I remember when the main pool at WL was under construction we were allowed to use the main pool at CR.

Also, regarding the GCH, any timeline on Ohanas?

I am the "go to" Disney girl among my family and friends and I have been asked about these particular questions.

The East pool (quiet pool) should remain open while they work on the Nanea pool. There is nothing that says that is 100% but there is not anything saying the east pool will be closed either. In the past, use of the GF pool has been offered when the Nanea Pool was closed so I would expect it to be the same thing but until there is official word you never know.

I have only seen dates for Captain Cook’s. ‘Ohana and Kona will close at some point to be redone but I don’t have a good feeling as to when that will be from March to December.

    Thanks.

As with all things, especially construction, I completely understand that nothing is going to be 100% sure until it's actually done. LOL.

Thanks for your insight, I appreciate it. At least it gives guests an idea of what "could" be happening during their trip. Better to be expecting these things than to be taken completely by surprise.

Oh no, I'm hoping Ohanas won't be closed when we're there

We have reservations at Kona Cafe for Aug 16 if that means anything. Do they have a history of telling people with reservations to take a hike at any point? That would not be nice especially since we made them at 180 days out and if they cancelled it then we would have to pick from the dinner reservation leftovers.....

Thanks everybody. Looks like the grand Floridian for us. We are poly people but just can't chance having a trip ruined because of construction. I hope it doesn't change too much. I really do love that place.
