They will be removing the volcano that blocks some of the view and I am sure when they tear up all round the pool area they will be removing all the plants. Last time they did this in 2000 all the plants from the GCH to the beach were removed except the Kukui tree. The castle is far away but you could open up the view from the lobby right out the back toward the lagoon.
There is a hot tub in the plan that was actually scheduled to go in a few years ago where the kids wet play area is but as with everything it was put off until later.

I love the smell of the Poly but it is looking alittle dated. It is probably time to brighten up the lobby.

That's been my question as well. I would love to know when/if Ohana's is going to have any kind of refurb. We don't have plans to visit Disney this year, but I have heard the whole Poly project will go well into 2015. I can't imagine a trip to Disney without dinner at Ohana. Might have to wait till the Poly is complete before returning to Disney.

I like the lobby display. I don't see why Disney of all companies cannot have the system fixed. I definitely feel they need to incorporate a new waterfall at least. Poly isn't Poly unless it has that Hawaiian waterfall.

I would always go eat at the sushi bar in the Poly because I loved the feel of the entire resort. I hope that the tropical feel and smell stays alive even without the atrium. Disney is extremely innovative and has some incredible ideas, maybe they will blow us away with this one. Fingers crossed.

I love the lobby and have been going there since 1974, but I have to admit it doesn't have a deluxe resort feel to it. I'd have to see renderings to pass judgment on whether change in this case is a good or bad thing. It would have to really impress me in order for me to approve.
It does concern me a bit... I like the relaxed atmosphere but think things were feeling a bit... Old.
