Default How bad is it in a tent??

I mean the showers and bathrooms mostly... would it be worth just renting an RV for a weekend? I would love to do the cabins, but I wanted something more outdoors. We do a cabin in the mountains every year so I wanted something more "camping"
Been there, done that and going back!!! See ya real soon !!!

Are you talking about Ft. Wilderness? Bathrooms and showers (comfort stations) are great. I've been to many campgrounds and Ft. Wilderness is one of the best!

Yes Vicster, Ft. Wilderness camp sites. I would like to try it for a weekend, but wasn't sure about the bathrooms and showers. I will be taking my DS10 Do they offer somewhere that just kids can shower? Or do they have private shower stalls that lock? I don't mean to sound crazy about safety, but ya never know nowadays.. How is it set up? I have heard many wonderful things about the cabins and camp site, but I wanted to know more.

We've tent camped in Fort Wilderness but that was years ago. I don't know how the men's rooms are set up but I recall the showers in the women's rooms as being very spacious with a dressing area outside the shower. I'm pretty sure there was a lock on the door but it's only meant to let folks know the space is occupied rather than keeping folks out.

I don't know if the campground offer any family facilities that would provide a more private shower who, for example, needed a caretaker's assistance.

We camped in a tent in July. Showers were great. Spacious, clean, no problems with water temperature or pressure. Also, maybe we planned our days a little differently than most, but there was never a wait and I mostly had the place to myself.

I was a 13 year old girl on a trip with my dad. That's a little older than 10, but I was okay and never felt uncomfortable. They have private showers with locks.

You can never be too crazy about safety. Also, the men and women facilities are separate, but they're a part of the same building (much like normal restroom facilities), so even if you're of opposite genders you can still be close enough to know if any issues arise.

Fort wilderness is the most beautiful campground I ve ever stayed in. They spray down the bathrooms twice a day. They are really clean. Don't waste money on an RV. Buy a great big tent and a couple of lights and extension cords. If you have room even some cots and a carpet. Use them over and over. Just don't forget to buy the silicone tent spray and spray the seams in case it rains. Tents don't come pretreated for rain. We LOVE tent camping at Fort wilderness and its so darn cheap it allows us to go to all the Rundisney Races.
