    Default Downtown Disney parking

I keep reading these horror stories about Downtown Disney Parking. Exactly what is going on there to make it so bad?

As part of the Disney Springs construction , they are adding a parking garage. That has taken a large number of spaces out of commission.

There are also areas of the parking lots behind barriers due to the construction of Disney Springs itself.

So overall you have less spaces, barriers and walls, overflow parking across the street, closed entrances and new traffic patterns. We were last there in July and it was a mess.

So I guess we should opt for the bus instead! I just don't want to deal with the stroller on the bus

So, question: is getting to DtD via bus just as difficult? Is there a dedicated bus lane for traffic in/out of the DtD area?

We used Disney buses to Downtown yesterday. It was VERY quick and worked flawlessly. They are using a route that goes out behind Saratoga Springs rather than going down the road where Typhoon lagoon is. TL and Epcot are on the same bus route now (at least from Pop century). We went around 3pm and came back to the resort around 5. Was very well managed.

Used it three weeks ago. I was super nervous but it was perfect. Not one issue.

DTD buses sometimes stop at other resorts, so the trip might take a little extra time, but actually getting in and out of DTD was not a problem at all.

If you are driving the parking lot definitely fills up quickly. Not only have they shut down almost the entire westside parking lot due to building the new parking garage but they have also cut an entire section out of the marketplace parking area and dedicated it to valet now since it's so hard to find a spot. It costs $20 to valet though. Anytime I plan on driving down there I make sure I do it first thing in the morning around 9 or 10 when there isn't many people there, if not you just have to park across the street and walk over.

And here's the little Skipper now. Oh Shut up Scruffy you're not burned, you just have a healthy glow.

I've yet to try it. I did just go to Downtown Disney this morning though and I noticed they changed the pricing for the valet now. It's $10 for 1-2 hours, $15 for 3 hours and $20 for max time. Little unsure on the $15 one, it was either for 3 hours or 3-4 hours. Just noticed the sign as I drove by in the parking lot.

Don't stress it TAKE THE BUS!!! you will be so much happier when you get on and off the bus with little wait time. We just went this past weekend and the traffic in front of DTD was crazy. We took the bus and got in and out with no worries... If you have a stroller no worries the buses worn't that full so you should have no problems...
Been there, done that and going back!!! See ya real soon !!!

Its pretty annoying but i always find a spot. It may take 10 mins to find one. But i always do. Never had to use the back lot. Just go with patience and fingers crossed. Youll find a spot. Dont take the bus. Just expect to drive around for a few mins. Go in your comfort. Theres always someone leaving so parking is there.

I have a problem with them taking away a parking alot just for valet knowing half is already closed for construction. Greed right there. But, the garage is coming along fast.
