    Default Annual Passes

My husband and I are going to Disney in Feb. 2015 for two weeks and then again in Sept. 2015 for a week with the whole family. We stay on resort, and get the dining plan. Is is worth it to get the Annual Pass? Need help!!

With three weeks at Disney, it will very likely be worthwhile to get annual passes. The real determining factor will be how many days you plan to be in the parks. Also, will you visit Disney's water parks on several occasions during your stay?

If you plan to visit the water parks, only once or twice, or not at all, get the basic annual pass and pay out of pocket for the water park tickets. It will be less expensive than getting the premium annual pass which includes the water parks and other features.

Take the cost of the annual pass and divide it by the number of park days you are planning during your two visits. This will be your cost per day for the annual pass. Compare this cost against the cost per day of other tickets you might buy for these two trips. For example, you might buy a 10 day pass for the first trip and and a 6 day pass for the second trip. Find your cost per day for each of these passes. (Cost of 10 day pass divided by 10; cost of 6 day pass divided by 6; and average the cost per day of both). Compare the average cost per day against the cost per day you arrived at for the annual pass. If the annual pass cost per day is less than the average you got for the other tickets - buy the annual pass.

Also, if you get the annual pass, you can also purchase the Tables in Wonderland card which provides you with 20% off at most table service restaurants - the 20% applies to both food and drink. There are some blackout periods. For example, we were last at Disney over Mother's day and the Tables in Wonderland card was not accepted on that day.

Also, if you do go with the annual pass, you may find it less expensive to NOT get the dining plan. You might possibly get an annual pass room discount (not guaranteed) and might also find that Tables in Wonderland offers a less expensive option to the dining plan.

One thing to add, AP's allow you to park hop.
