    Default Hawaiian Cruise?

My husband and I are thinking about the cruise that is available for the Hawaiian islands

We have visited Oahu a few years ago so we have done Honolulu & the sites to see there. It was wonderful! We are looking at the cruise that is offered and wondered if anyone had done the cruise and can offer your advise?

We are looking at going in late October or early November if that helps in making your recommendations/comments?

Thanks for any ideas about this cruise

We are doing a Hawaiian cruise in July of this year. The only one that sails ALL the islands is the Pride of America (NCL).

Be forewarned!! It is more expensive than a Disney cruise if you can believe that!!!

The cruise itself is expensive (for 4 adults ours was at $11K). Then add the cost of airfare (for 4 adults ours was at $7K), then add hotel if you go a few days before hand to adjust to the time change or site see (for 3 rooms, ours is at $3K), and you quickly have a VERY expensive vacation.

That being said, I have heard it is worth every penny spent - I will let you know at the end of July

We went on that cruise about 5 years ago and it was great! You can unpack for the week and see a lot without having to move from hotel to hotel and take inter island flights. We did that on our honeymoon and much preferred it this way. We came in a day early and stayed overnight after so got to sightsee a little on Oahu as well.

We debated the cruise when we visited last late October. A co-worker who had gone to Hawaii numerous times did NOT recommend it for us. He said he really did not like the nights that had to be back on board "early" for departures to the next island. He said it ruined the day and limited the options. He told us to focus on two or three islands with car rentals and inter-island flights. That's what we did with Oahu, Maui and the Big Island. We loved it. Late nights on the beaches. Early morning sunrises. Where ever we wanted, whenever we wanted.

I don't think you can go wrong though. Hawaii is paradise.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I think, based on the input here, that we are going to go

Imalismom will look forward to your report.

We went last winter on a Princess Cruise out of Los Angeles. It was a 15 day cruise and stopped at Kauai, Oahu, Maui and The Big Island. We had a fantastic time. Also stopped in Ensenada, Mexico on the way back as well. We are thinking of going again in a couple of years. We pretty much saw what we really wanted, but would liked to have spent more time on Maui and The Big Island. Especially Maui. The cruise was a lot of fun and Hawaii is not to be missed! I have to admit though that we would have liked it better if we could have spent 2 days on each island instead of one. That would have been perfect!

That's the one thing I like about the Pride of America - it does spend two or three days on the bigger islands....
