Magical Journeys vs AAA
We have always booked our trips through AAA. They usually give us $200-$250 off our room rate for a 8 night stay. I see many people on this site use Magical Journeys. Do they provide a better discount than AAA? What can they do that AAA can't?
Thanks.

AAA offers discounts off the rack rate package but I don't recall ever seeing a time that a Disney discount (room only or package) didn't beat the AAA package discount. The only time AAA is good is when Disney doesn't have a promotion going, which is rarely. MJ can actually book the AAA room only discount for you. They don't have a standard discount like AAA but they will get you the best deal, period. And, unlike AAA, if a better discount comes along MJ will update your reservation with no hassle on your part. I've started off with the AAA discount through Magical Journeys but once Disney releases their discount it's always better and MJ switches me over to the better deal. In general, MJ is just much better customer service all the way around and you always deal with the same agent when booking. AAA isn't bad, I've just found MJ to be much better. And it doesn't cost you anything to use them.

AAA and Disney have parted ways. There is no more AAA discount available.

Thanks for the update Nanc. Just one more reason to use MJ.

The other thing that Magical Journeys offers that AAA does not is this website... now, they don't own it, and they don't keep it up, or anything like that, but what they are is one of the sponsors of this site, so that John the wonderful webmaster can keep it running.
That in itself is a good reason to give them a try.

Funny how our local office still has their Disney decals displayed prominently on their windows. I was in to get some maps for a trip and asked them about some DCL info and they just said that they aren't partnered with Disney any more. Thought that it was funny that every window had a Disney character and DCL decal on it.
As to the OP, we used CAA, the Canadian version of AAA, once and we had to tell our agent that there were discounts available, she knew nothing of them. She was even the Disney expert at this location! We tried MJ many years ago and haven't looked back, even after we purchased DVC. We still use Terrisue and MJ and are glad to have found someone who cares and looks after their clients regardless on what they are booking.
