Default using a scooter in the rain

We're going to Disney on 12/2-12/10 and I'm concerned what to do if it rains. My father needs a scooter the whole trip. Is it safe to use a scooter in the rain? Should I bring something to cover the scooter if it rains?

    Thanks
    LYNN

They will still work in the rain. Get your father a poncho to wear if it rains and he needs to ride in it. I have seen a lot of people riding scooters in the rain with ponchos on.

On my last trip in Sept. I had a scooter that I got from Apple Scooters. The only real worry was the electronics on the tiller or steering wheel. As BrerGnat stated wear your poncho to keep you dry and then use a small plastic grocery bag like you get from your supermarket or Walmart and put in over the tiller. Even with the tiller covered I was still able to operate the control with no problem. Be sure to have a couple in case one gets a hole in it.

    Hope this helps..

My Mom uses a scooter in Disney all the time now. The poncho works well and is usually big enough to cover the hand controls. She typically does not take the scooter into shops, restaurants and some rides. We bring a clear shower curtain to put over it if we can't get it under cover in the rain.
