Disney gift cards in Disney Springs

I apologize if this is in the wrong area -- but does anyone know if you can use Disney gift cards at the restaurants/stores/vendors in Disney Springs? Also, can you use them as final payment on hotel bill on WDW property as well?

Any location that is Disney owned/operated will accept Disney gift cards. Many, but not all, non-Disney owned places also accept them - Earl of Sandwich, for instance, does accept gift cards. It just depends on if the location is connected into Disney's computer systems or not. Always best to ask if you're unsure. Sometimes, a location doesn't accept gift cards, but they do let you use your magic band to charge to your room account. (I know, it seems odd, but it's two different systems.) That situation leads to the second part of your question...

You can definitely use them as payment on your account at all Disney resorts. So if a location doesn't accept gift cards, but will accept your band, just charge it to your room and then use the gift card to pay the room charge.

It may be a bit hit or miss in the Disney Springs area, since the official word is that cards can be used "at Disney owned and operated locations where credit cards are currently accepted".

You CAN use it to pay the hotel bill, so that is an option - charge to the MB, and then pay off with the GC.

I didn't really try any other places but I know the Ghirardelli ice cream shop does take Disney Gift cards and I highly recommend getting one of their fabulous sundaes. LOL
