    Default Misc Questions

    A few unrelated questions:

    1. Will there be regular type wheelchairs on board if I need one?

    2. How many "shops" are there (Fantasy)? Will I be able to purchase shampoo/cond on board & how overpriced is it? M

    3. Are there any floats allowed in the pools & if so do they sell any at a kiosk by the pool? I may need to use a pool air mattress for my bad back - I could take one but just in case it doesn't last...

    4. A friend suggested water shoes for the craggy bottoms of the beaches/ocean at Cozumel & grand Cayman. Rather than water shoes, we got water socks....think that will work?

    5. I have a medical problem that causes me to not be able to eat much at each sitting...so I often want to just take my leftovers (usually 85+% of my meal) with me to nibble on...is that allowed?

    TIA!!

    1. There are no wheelchairs available on board.

    2. There are three shops, I think. They sell the H2O Plus brand shampoo and conditioner. It is around $20/bottle. You can buy some in Cozumel though for much cheaper at a local drug store.

    3. No pool floats of any kind are allowed in the pools. They will have floats for rent on Castaway Cay though.

    4. Water socks are the same thing. Should be fine.

    5. You can always ask your server to pack up your food to take back to your cabin if you wish. You are free to order room service as well (no extra charge for this, but do tip in cash for each delivery). You are always permitted to carry food out of the buffet or poolside food locations and take it back to your room as well.

I figured they did not allow pool floats… Which I actually prefer and is totally understandable. :-) just in a hurry to type and forgot that detail… And I also should've said that I did not mean that I want to do use the float in the pool… But on the actual bed in our state room if my back can't tolerate the bed for some reason. Unfortunately, from the time we paid for the cruise about a month ago, I have had two slipped discs and I am barely recovered enough to leave tomorrow. I'm just going to go on a wing and a prayer that sunshine, sand, water, all things Disney and Mickey Mouse is what I need. :-)

I am a little shocked, however, that there are no wheelchairs on board. What would they do if someone had a significant sprain and I couldn't walk but it wasn't bad enough for them to be emergency evacuated? I'm surprised about that. Do you know if walkers are allowed? I know some people take their own ECV… Which I might elect to do… But surely there's no rule about not having a walker, right?

They have wheelchairs for medical issues but not for general use.

The beds are SUPER comfy but I think you may be able to ask for an egg crate type topper if you need it. Ask your stateroom host when you board!

I had a recently broken leg on our last Disney cruise. Brought my own rented wheelchair. DCL was very accommodating. I could go everywhere on the ship. But I did not try to rent one on board.
